Trying to install the purity_iii template and associated files. When I try to install the com_jaextmanager, I get the 403 error page "You don’t have permission to access …/administrator/index.php on this server." I only get this error with this component. Other components and plugins load just fine. Running Joomla! v3.5.

In an effort to stop chasing my tail blindly around, can someone tell me if this is a configuration issue on my server, my joomla setup, or otherwise? I have no problem researching the answer (so I can learn), but need someone to point me in the right direction to solve this issue.

Hi
forbidden error is coming from the server side , first i suggest you to talk to host provider about this errors .
Also the JAEM v2.6.0 is not ready for latest Joomla so i you need to wait for the updates of it . Or you can use Joomla 3.4.8 and check this issue .
Do not update your live site wthout taking backup .
