Hi,

I’m using ja teline IV with sampled data. I added a user (auther) and he cannot upload any image in articles. First the error was file too big, then I changed permissions to remove restricted, then the error switched to :

JFile: :read: Unable to open file:
Warning: Failed to move file!
Unable to upload file.

This is critical because I want to give authors access to start adding articles so that we can move on to next stages. Please help.

Also what’s the login url for authors and other users so that they may bookmark it instead of having to look for it on main page? THank you.

Hi gafaru,

Can you please check if the error occurs when you are using JA template or it comes when you use default JA template as well. Please note that if the issue is occurring even when you do not use the JA template then you will need to find a solution for it on Joomla forums as in that case the issue will be out of JA support scope.

If the issue is occurring with the JA template then please provide the link from where the author will be uploading images and tell me the details of the author type of user you have created, so that I can check uploading files using the account.

I resolved this by changing adding/specifying upload directory in php.ini. That needs to be set as well to work properly.

@himangi: I just wanna put an extra idea for him 🙂 Hope you dont mind.

– Actually if just about media upload i suggest do via FTP by directly . It make you do faster / easier .
or use JCE with image uploader if just about image / media.
