Help please!
After I set Cloris as the default template I just cannot preview the frontpage anymore. The backend is running normally and if I change to other template I can preview my site again.
I am using Joomla 1.5 and the JA Cloris for Joomla 1.5. I’ve already installed and enable all the plugins, modules and component.
thanks a lot

May 30, 2011 at 2:34 am #393471I have checked your site but still couldn’t see the reason, please try to reinstall the template. That could help.
May 30, 2011 at 1:25 pm #393629I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the template and the whole joomla pack several times but I still can not see the frontpage.
May be there is a problem with an archive of the package. What can I do to solve the problem as soon as possible? I am dealing with this issue since Thursday and I really need to have this page running inmediately.
I really would appreciate any help you can provide me.

May 30, 2011 at 10:35 pm #393716I have made a temporary fix for you by setting css and js compression in the template manager to “No”.
I believe the reason your site is not working is because many folders are not writable by the script. One of these is the cache folder. The template was trying to cache the site but because it could not write the files you were getting the blank page.
You have many files and folders that are not writable and this will cause you problems. Go into your admin panel and click on the help>system info menu. Then click on the directory permissions tab and you will see the folders than need adjusting. In addition you will need to enable the ftp layer in joomla as your host has enabled a really stupid and annoying psuedo security feature of PHP (that is about to be dropped from PHP6) called Safe Mode.
With regards to permissions it is probably best to speak to your host as they can recommend the best settings. I would also ask them about safe mode. I personally steer clear of hosts that use that.
As for the ftp layer there are loads of docs available for that on Joomla.org such as this – http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=1278556
Google is your friend regarding the ftp layer. It is only there as a workaround by the Joomla guys to help with problems caused by Safe Mode.
