suddenly mysite can’t clear template cache and save template setting. when I click “apply”, the loading icon just keep showing, and nothing happen.

when try to click the clear JAT3 clear cache button on the top, also no response. I see the link shows “javascript:void(0) and this error in firebug: http://screencast.com/t/SLbCGte0mQan

default Joomla cache also can’t be clear.

when check server log, see this:
File does not exist: /home/mysite/public_html/500.shtml, referer: http://www.mysite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_templates&task=edit&cid[]=ja_teline_iv&client=0

I have checked the cache folder permission, and everything looks fine to me. what is going wrong here?

    thanks,

Ok, I found out the reason, but don’t know why this happened.

there are too many files in the cache/t3 folder, over 6GB. this huge amount of files stop the cache folder from working. when I del all these files from FTP. everything is working again. Here are the files:

Please tell me why there are so many cache file created in cache/t3?

    Dear chanton,

Not sure why there were so many files in your cache/t3 folder,You can remove all of them then check again for a period of time to see if this happen again
