In another thread, piroman wrote about trying to change the color of the roll-over border at the top of the main menu TABS:
<em>@piroman 26951 wrote:</em><blockquote>:) I’m going for the sake of the theme.
Anyhow, here’s my problem. I know that border-top changes color but only in the split menu. I’m trying to change the color of trans menu, I’ve downloaded theme again, and did the search for border-top string, here’s what I got:
Searching for: border-top
csstemplate_css.css(140): border-top: 1px solid #D0D9DF;
csstemplate_css.css(250): border-top: 1px solid #D0D9DF;
….
scriptsmootools.v1.1.js(6924): if (this.options.height) element.setStyles({‘padding-top’: 0, ‘border-top’: ‘none’, ‘padding-bottom’: 0, ‘border-bottom’: ‘none’});
Found 32 occurrence(s) in 8 file(s)Hex value of the color I’m trying to change is: 0064A1, so there should be line containing border-top and 0064A1, but it only appears in ja_splitmenu.css which is not used for trans menu, so now I’m really stuck with this one 🙁 Pls help me, as I have to travel on Saturday , so I have to finish this before.</blockquote>
Then piroman follows up that the solution was found, because with Transmenu, the top border is a gif, rather than just a color-swap. I’ve been trying to locate that gif so I can change the color, but I can’t find it. Can any one tell me the name of the gif? I’m going crazy trying to track the dang thing down!!

July 11, 2008 at 4:30 pm #259286th easiest way to track these things down is by using firefox browser with the firebug plug in. Its a web developer tool that will help you locate all the files and lines of code you need
August 1, 2008 at 6:04 pm #263472Hi,
I would also like to use two different colors on the top menu. I’m using the default blue theme for my website, but would like to have the hover image on the top menu to be orange instead of blue. I just want the thin hover line to be orange while still keeping blue as the active color.
I’m not sure if it’s a Gif. I’m thinking it must be in the css.
Can anyone help? I would apreciate it very much.
Thanks in advance.
August 1, 2008 at 6:39 pm #263475ok I found the solution!
In fact, it was a gif called “dot5px-blue” in the /images folder.

August 4, 2008 at 7:11 am #263695Hi angelus82
Can i mark this topic is solved ?August 21, 2008 at 12:50 am #266385Yes, this problem is solved. I do want to mention one thing in case some one else runs into the same problem. I found that in order to change the color of dot5px-blue.gif, I had to actually re-create the graphic, I was unable to change the color by just opening the file in Photoshop, and I couldn’t figure out why not (or, at least, it was just faster to recreate it than to try to figure out why it wasn’t working).
Thanks so much to every one who helped!

August 21, 2008 at 4:19 am #266408if the original or source file has been rasterized, you cannot make changes directly to that file. I especially find this to be the case with the source files for logos and their text.
I always have to recreate my own.
also, it may be a photoshop version/compatibility issue.
They use CS3, which is fine as its the latest version of PS and its up to me to upgrade, but I still have PS6, so I cannot even open the source files unless I convert them first in Gimp or Gimpshop, and if I do that, I cannot edit the files directly.
