hi,

Can someone advise how to solve the template setup problem as the error message say ‘could not find an XML setup file in the package’.

There are a number of files in those packages and you need to unzip them first. There is only 1 of them that is the template. he biggest file is the quickstart version and that includes a full installation of Joomla, you cannot install that from inside Joomla.

Which file were you trying to install?

i try to install rasite and bistro templates.

Which files exactly, the quickstarts or the ones marked as templates. They are different files.

I already deleted source and quick start packages in the folder. I tried to install the template without them. It gives error again.

You need to make sure the package is unzipped. When you download the complete package from JA it contains a number of files. The quickstart is a complete Joomla install and cannot be installed onto an existing install. Then in the package you will find a number of other folders. (Plugins, Modules, Components and Templates, ignore the source folder and only use the quickstart folder if you want a complete new install). Each of thise folders will contain 1 or more zip files and it is only those that can be installed one by one via the normal Joomla installer.
