    Hello,

    I’m using Joomla 1.5.15. Downloaded the template and trying to install using the “install” from backend. But everytime I try, it returns an error saying that it can’t find the install package.

    I see that there are others who had the same problem.

    Can you please post the issues here for others who tries to install and goes throught the same problem like me?

    Thanks!

    P.S. I’m trying to install offline so I can’t give you a live url.

    what is the filename of the package you tried to install?

    NOT the quick install. Because I installed Joomla on my own.

    that was not my question, what was the filename of the package you tried to install?

    OK I downloaded ja_mona.v1.0

    Then I tried to install /templates/tpl_ja_mona.

    There are only two files for download from the site… one which is quickinstall and another which is not. What I downloaded was NOT the quickinstall package.

    Can you help?

    Hi sushismb,

    please, go to this page:

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=863

    and download that package (it’s 12,67 MB in size).

    After you finish downloading, extract it on your computer, using some archiving software (i recommend 7zip).

    Once extracted, you will be presented with 3 directories: Extensions, quickstart and Templates. The file you want to install is (logically) located in the Templates directory, and it’s named tpl_ja_mona.zip.

    You must download quickstart together with the standalone template, since they’re both in the same archive.

    Seems to me like you tried to install source files, since you thought that the second link contains just quickstart (you didn’t understand the description, and you didn’t try to download and extract it in order to check what’s inside), hence the errors you’re getting.

    Hope this helps, please report back what you did, so we can help if you’re still stuck 🙂

    That is what i tought wich is why i asked for the spefic filename that the user was trying to install.

    “Then I tried to install /templates/tpl_ja_mona.”

    That is the right file, so if that is the file wich is really being used for intstall then below story wont work.

    Yeah, i noticed that after i posted, but then again, look at this:

    <blockquote>What I downloaded was NOT the quickinstall package.</blockquote>

    Only other download beside the archive with quickinstall (and the template with it) are the source files, and he clearly states that the quickstart is NOT what he downloaded.

    My god, who knows what he’s downloading, we’ll have to wait and hear from him 🙂

    My appoligies for all the confusion.

    I double checked on the file I downloaded.

    It was in fact the “quickstart package” that I downloaded here;

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=863

    And since I already have Joomla 1.5.15 installed, I installed the file below;

    /template/tpl_ja_mona.zip

    But everytime I try to install, it returns an error saying that it can’t find the install package.

    Again, sorry for all the confusion!

    I finally got to install the template but I unziped the template file and manually uploaded onto the site on the template folder. However, I’m not sure if this would be ok.

    I also found another thread concerning this issue and mentioned about this here;

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/error-when-installing-ja_mona-template/

    I hope for any help.

    Thanks!

    Hi sushismb,

    Please follow the detailed guide HERE for configuration of the template and associated modules if you do not use our Quickstart package.

    Hope it helps

    Yes, I do understand how to install the zip template file. But as I’ve said, Joomla returns an error saying that it cannot find the template package.

    So, as mentioned in another thread, I unzipped the file and manually uploaded into the /template folder. Now, this worked, however, I don’t know if there are files in this folder I have to load onto another folder.

    Other template files work, so I don’t know why this one doesn’t. And I don’t know why some others are also experiencing the same.

    Would appreciate additional help. Thanks.

    Just one simple question, to rule out this possibility: can you install other extensions?

    🙂

    Hello histeriks,

    Yes, I tried installing other templates as well as to other extensions (components and modules) which all works.

    Or did you mean extensions that came with the template?
