    I´m trying to resize the area of the logo but nothing seems to work.
    I have searched through the forum and no suggestions were helpful.
    Any help? Thanks,
    Sérgio

    So that I can try to best assist you, please provide the url of the site you’re working on.

    Also, please advise which version of JA Social you are working with (J2.5 or J3.0)

    I am using J3.0 version. The site is not public because it is on an early stage and I am working on localhost, so I cant provide you with an URL yet … Is it possible for you to give me any guidance even without seeing the site?

    Thank you,
    Sergio

    I can give you some general suggestions … but without being able to view/inspect your site online, it is virtually impossible to provide the best/most concise recommendations for your specific logo requirements.

    Perhaps you can upload your site to your web server and provide the url via private message?
    (You can even set it to “offline” and provide a special username/password login).

    Also, it would be helpful to know the dimensions of the logo image you wish to utilize.

    Well, at this stage I don´t even have a server prepared with the minimum requirements.
    But, I realize that what I need is to resize the area that stays between the main menu and topmost module (above the top panel). I just want to increase the space (height) of this area, is that possible?

    Thank you,

    Here is what you can do . . . .

    If you have not done so already, create a new file called “custom.css” within file path . . .
    /templates/ja_social/css

    Within that custom.css file, pate the following CSS rule:

    .t3-header .container {
    height: 300px;
    }

    SAVE CHANGES – CLEAR CACHE – REFRESH PAGE

    The height will be somewhat of an extreme example … but you can then, of course, modify the “height” property to whatever pixel value you wish.

    Hope That Helps.

    Yes Tom, it did work. But something strange is happening. Once I put 300px, I cannot resize it to a lower height anymore… even if I delete the file custom.css that I created, it did not come back to the default height that was set before!

    Try clearing your cache – both your browser and JAT3 (within your site admin)

    Hi Tom,
    I am not sure if I could clear JAT3 cache. I went to the System->Clear Cache and also System->Purge Expired Cache and it did not the job. Strangely, if I switch the theme to orange, or green (any theme except the default blue), it is resized, but when I switch it back to the default theme, it is damaged again. Any suggestions?

    Hmmm, that is very strange. You didn’t do anything else besides put that CSS rule within your custom.css file, right?

    I suppose you could try deleting the rule – save change – clear your browser cache and then see if things go back to original.

    (This is why having the site online to view/inspect makes things much easier) 😉

    I have deleted the rule, but the default theme stays damaged. I have even deleted the custom.css file, but the default theme keeps unchanged (with the 300px). In either case, when I switch to the other color themes, things now go back to the original, but I cannot switch it back to the default theme or … again 300px !! isn´t it very strange?

    It is absolutely strange.

    Is there ANY chance you can get the site online – via yours or a friend’s webhost server – for viewing? :((

    I will try. Maybe I wont get it today, but hopefully until tomorrow I think I can manage to put it online.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Tom,

    I finally got it back to work. But I have to confess that what I did was a kind of real “brute force” solution and I am sure that there should be something less “violent” to do … :-[

    I was suspecting that this should really be related to caching. What I did was: I moved the entire site to another directory (by the way, I´m using XAMPP) and also copied the whole database to a new one. After configuring the files to make everything right with this new environment, everything started to work. I really don´t know what was causing the problem, but I suspect that maybe it has to do with some caching mechanism on the server that I could not find how to clear.

    I´m hopping that it wont happen again, but I would be more comfortable if someone could give some light on what could be the causes of this behaviour… and maybe what could be a simpler solution to it. Anyway, it is working now, and I really appreciated your help.

    Thank you very much,
    Sérgio.
