CHeck the error logs for the exact time you are seeing the problems. Maybe they will reveal a little more of what is going on.

the error log says: [Wed Feb 15 17:24:28 2012] File does not exist: /home/tirerev/public_html/403.shtml, referer: http://tirereviewer.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_templates&view=style&layout=edit&id=14

and now i get 500 Internal Server Error when i try to install any component/plugin….

GoDaddy is ridiculous….

ok apparently the issue was in .htaccess (should have looked there in the 1st place). not sure what exactly cause it, just replace my current .htaccess file with some old one, and setting are being saved.

so that is done.

but now i cannot install anything – keep getting internal error…. :((
