I have joomla installed on my website, have installed the ja_pariiti template and my website now displays the default page. However, I CANNOT ftp anything into the template/ja_pariiti directory. I get 553 -Can’t open that file. Permission denied. I can upload anything into any other directory with no problem. This directory and all files have been given all permissions, set at 777. The template is useless to me if I can’t customize it for my use.

How can I get the permissions set to upload customized images, etc?
    Thanks !!

This is surely no problem of ja_pariiti. Did you install other templates that let you ftp some files into?

Yes, maybe you missed this from my original message. I can upload files into any other template directory but the joomlart template, ja_pariiti.

This is a very common problem related to Joomla! When you install a new template or an extension, joomla! create a new folder for them with the specific permission of course. I don’t know what other templates were but this problem does not belong to ja_pariiti.
You can try these two solutions I’ve posted here, hope it can help you.
