    Hi there. If anyone could help with this I’d be massively grateful. I’m new to joomla/joomlart so please excuse my ignorance. I’m using the Ores template and want to change the default colour scheme from orange to green. I’ve managed to locate the required css rules for most, if not all of, the text (as you’ll see if you check http://www.britannialogistics.com/joomla1/) but I can’t for the life of me work out how to change the orange background colour that runs across the flash area and some other places. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dave.

    Have you looked into your Template Manager for assignment of the color theme you want?

    Hi,

    – You open this file /joomla1/templates/ja_ores/css/template.css
    – Find these code

    #ja-slideshow {
    background: url("../images/slideshow-bg.png") no-repeat scroll left bottom #FB8819;
    }

    And

    #ja-botsl {
    background: url("../images/shadow-top.png") repeat-x scroll left top #FB8819;
    color: #101010;
    }

    – Replace the color code #FB8819 to your own color code/name
    Thanks,

    I’m confused . . . Is David asking how to switch color themes from what is already available, or is he asking how to create his own custom color theme/background? Because if he is simply trying to change the color theme to what is available within the core template release, he can do so within the Template Manager very easily.

    I thought he wanted to change just the orange color in slideshow and botsl to be green because he had already changed text color to be green without using theme manager.
    @david: you can check out preset colors of the template by using cPanel tool in right top corner of the site.

    From that, it looks like he wants to change the overall color scheme for the template.

    thanks – I’m trying to customise, not assign a different theme…
    I’m aware a green theme is available, but its not the right kind of green, so I need to tweak the css, images and whathaveyou. I’ve found the css to change the text, and also changed a png to customise the flash background, but I can’t figure out how to change the large strips of orange in the template.

    Okay …. then Viet’s suggestion above is the way to go.

    Thanks for your help but the preset green is not what I want ‘cos we have a specific house green.

    Have you tried my solution above? You can customize the code to change the orange color to any color you want!
