Hi,
I would like to install a captcha on my register page to avoid spam registering.
I think lot of people here should be interested with it.does anybody have a tutorial for that? 🙂
i’m surprised as a new joomla user to see that is a real problem. Configure a captcha is hard to me. i did it before on easy php contact forms. But now, i don’t know what to do.
I’m also surprised to see it’s a forbiden point with teline 2 or other template with included plugins and componants .
Capcha should be integrated on every template … :confused:thanks for the one who will give a solution with complete tutorial :-*

September 12, 2008 at 5:23 am #270173Hi madfish2008
I installed a third party extension (which I paid for) which includes captcha. It works fine with my Telline II and Joomla 1.5.7.
It also gives me far more options with user registration/statistics/etc. I have modified the registration form to capture more fields (Location, Occupation, etc.).
More info here:
http://joomsuite.comGreat extension, easy to use and great customer support.
Cheers

September 12, 2008 at 7:17 am #270181Hi Chris
I assume you meant Joosuite Member in terms of getting readers to pay for paid subscription to your site ?
Are you using Joomsuite’s other extensions eg Joomsuite Defender,Joomsuite Content etc ?
It seems Joomsuite Defender is an “app development ” tool so one can esentially develop applications hosted on Joomla.

September 12, 2008 at 7:30 am #270183Hi 2Patrick
I’m basically using:
JoomSuite Member – to handle ‘pay to view’ content and subscription plans
JoomSuite User – extended registration possibilites and captcha
and
JoomSuite Defender – extra security against php/sql injection attacks and flood attacksAll seem to work fine, plus everything is tested and OK in Joomla 1.5.7 with Telline II.
Cheers
