Hi, if you check http://www.skilsmisse.net and select the Create account (at top right) you will see that i have no field for entering the captcha. And no captcha is visible. Only a leading text saying JACAPTCHA and no fields.

Maybe i have done something wrong (i had so much spam that i deactivated the whole login process) or are missing any setting, i know……?

Using Joomla 2.5.16. And the joomla Configurations are set to activate captcha

Anyone who has an idea ?

Hi darietto, and thanks for your reply. Seeing you also have this problem it might be a case with google as you state.
Have you tried any other captcha ?
I did try some but could not get them to work with joomla, so i will see if i can find some others.
Please let me know if you find any that helps, and i will also post back when tried.

Ok, i have now tried several extensions, but without any luck.

    I have tried
ECC+ – nothing showed up, i could not see any text/box for entering the sum
OSOLCaptcha – installed fine, but gave me an error message (something about an illegal value entry in the database) when entering the global settings afterwards, so had to uninstall it
KEYCaptcha – could not figure out how to sign up for a free use of this

Have you had any luck fixing this yet ?

Ok, seems this is a bug. When using firebug i get the message 404 Not Found – http://api.recaptcha.net/js/recaptcha_ajax.js

    I found this:
    https://github.com/phalouvas/joomla-cms/commit/1870d11ccdfe6fa998a6c2bf242bf129acbd8f1f

Anyone who know where/how to replace this code ?

You should change Public Key and Private Key in Captcha – ReCaptcha plugin with both key:

    Public Key: 6LeVVccSAAAAAFSea-M984wZ9si5DVHve6L00S_1
    Private Key: 6LeVVccSAAAAAA4Dphh_SPhNivvNWA0Boio1C-1w

and set to activate captcha in Configurations of site.

Remember to clear cache from Admin area after making any changes

Let me know if it helps

    No sorry, it did not.

But yay!! – I fixed the problem by editing the the recaptcha.php file. 🙂 Seems it is a problem with a broken recaptcha ur.
