July 19, 2014 at 2:13 pm #199814Hello,
Is there a way to set a category on language all and use other names for different languages. I find it very complicated that a employer has to select categories for different languages.
Thanks

July 21, 2014 at 3:54 am #542943Hello,
There is no way to do that now, since if you select one item to display in all languages, then its content will be displayed the same in all languages. If you want to get it displays differently in each language, you need to clone this item for each language.

August 11, 2014 at 9:49 am #545439OK, I do not understand why this is not possible. When I create cloned categories the list will be very long and employers can be confused about what category to fill in. Is seems to me that this is an high priority change because this is not multi site.

When I create cloned categories the list will be very long and employers can be confused about what category to fill in

If you enable language filter plugin, it will display only categories that assigned to current active language. As you can see in our demo page in link below (switch between English and Spanish to see different categories list)
http://demo.jobboard.joomlart.com/jobsAnd see more about how to configure mulitingual site here

August 14, 2014 at 2:18 pm #545978Thanks but see what happens:
see also this job: http://demo.jobboard.joomlart.com/jobs/jaview/54-secretary-6-month-contract
– select spanish language
You go to: http://demo.jobboard.joomlart.com/es/jobs/jaview/54-secretary-6-month-contractSee also the tab “Empleos contador” here: http://demo.jobboard.joomlart.com/es/
As you can see the categories of the job is not there, this means a jobseeker can not find the job.As you can see the categories are still english (because the employer has no option for spanish, he only can select several categories for different languages) while they also have to be translated in site language.
Let me explain what I mean:
My site is for dutch jobseekers with multi language skills and for jobs all over the world. When an employer from Spain adds a job but does not speak Dutch he writes his job in English but for Dutch jobseekers!!!!!!. This means that he is choosing english categories and add his job for all languages. When a dutch jobseeker goes to the site it sees the job in the jobboard but with english categories and the rest is dutch translated. SO the jobseekers can’t search or see the job in the specific category.
Next to this when a employer add his job and chooses categories and want to add his Job on all langauge sites, it needs to choose for every language a category.
So the solution would be:
When a employers logs in on the English site, he can add a job in english and see all the different categories in english. When he add the job for language “all” the category automatically is translated in dutch when I go to the dutch site, German when I go to the german site.
I hope I have made it clear if not let me know. But I really find this a thing to look into because the component is multi language for 95% but not with this and this is very important part for a multi site.
