    I have created a news page using the Category Blog Layout. Its parameters are to hide the description & image with the following:

    • # leading: 1
    • # Intro: 4
    • Columns: 2
    • #Links 4

    The problem is that to the left of the 2 columns an empty Latest area/column is being displayed. To the left of that is the expected left column (I have change my design to be left/content/right).

    This empty latest are is not connected to mod_latestnews – as enabling/disabling mod_latestnews has no affect on th latest are.

    Any ideas where this came from and how to get rid of it? I have attached a screen print.

    Sorry I can’t supply a live url as the site is not live yet – and their are NDA – the owner doesn’t want people to know about the site until it’s ready.

    I have attached a version of the screen shot highlighting the column containing the latest area that needs to be removed.

    Janice can you post your templates index.php file?

    The ‘Latest’ is not being put there by a module so it must be an article but without seeing it and the CSS it’s very hard to diagnose.

    Hi Janice, is the article “Paige’s Latest News” published in a category or section called “Latest”?

    If so, go back to your frontpage menu item and under “Parameters (Component)” set Section title and Category title to HIDE.

    Thanks Scotty,

    It is the title that is showing up – I confirmed this by changing the title text – and it was reflected on the page.

    This category blog layout page is not part of the frontpage menu but an item on the main menu. I selected the menu item from main menu and set the parameters for section name and category title to both “Hide” and the title still shows up on the page.

    As well I confirmed in the Global Article Parameters that Section Name and Category Title are set to Hide.

    Then I also set all the articles in that category to have Section Name & Category Title set to “Hide”

    Any idea what is causing this strange behavior?
