    Hello,
how do determine the image width and height in the category blog layout in ja travel? I’m using joomla 1.7 and have set up a blog with 3 columns but the images are getting cut off.

    Hi

I am not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve from JA travel shown at http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#templates.joomlart.com/ja_travel

The images on your site homepage are having large size which is not available for them on Home page, hence the images arent seen fully. In Ja travel demo I couldnot see any images that are as big as yours and still fit in the given area. If you can provide a screenshot of what you want to achieve, I will be able to guide you correctly.

    Hello himangi,
thanks for your reply. What I am trying to achieve is to create a 3 column grid from the blog layout menu. In the ja_travel demo, you can see that the columns are even. (http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#templates.joomlart.com/ja_bistro)

but when i try to do the same, only half of the photo is displayed (http://blackhairdiaries.com/dummy/index.php/category)

your images sizes too big for 3 column grid from the blog layout
you need to resize your images same size with demo site pictures.
first resize pictures using a software like http://www.irfanview.com/
than upload resized pictures to appropriate folder and clean your cache to see them.

If you are going with three columns, and using the Style 3 wrap of the picture, then the maximum width of your category images is 194px.

    Hope this helps.
    John.

I have resized my images to be the same size as the ones in the demo site for ja_anion but I cannot get the blog layout to display 3 columns across. I have played with the settings in mainmenu/home/config with zero luck. I have selected 3 leading, 0 intro, 3 columns, Multi Column Across…but they still only go vertical…not horizontal.

    Hello Scot,

You need to set 0 leading, 3 or more intro articles and columns 3 then your articles will show up in 3 columns. The columns param is related to intro articles only. Leading articles will take full available width and hence will be displayed one below the other as you have right now..

Regarding JA Anion, If you check the screenshot attached, Latest Reviews is a blog layout in which articles are shown one below the other so your setting seems to be right. I think you may be referring to the Editor’s pick.. That is the JA Contentslider module. If you havent set that up, please do that and let me know if you need any help with this.
