Hoping someone can help me. I’ve just downloaded and installed your excellent k2 Search module, but having some trouble getting the category drop down to show. I’ve selected “Show Categories Dropdown” as yes in the JA Filter for K2 Extrafields plugin, however in the frontend of the site all i see is the lable “Categories” under the keyword search box – I’m not seeing the Categories Dropdown – see http://www.faroutdoors.com.au/draft/ and you can see what i mean. The extra fields are showing up fine – but not the categories dropdown – am i missing something??
Joomla V1.5.22 K2 V2.4.1
Thanks so much

Please check now.

January 29, 2011 at 4:52 pm #374389Hi,
I had this same problem and I found this thread. However, I don’t see an option for choosing the “top parent category” – has this been removed in an update?
On one site, I did not have this problem because my filter fields were all from the same category.
On another site, this problem still exists because I am choosing filter fields from multiple categories, and the category drop-down doesn’t show. Is there a fix to this? I’m guessing it’s “structural” as the category drop down appears to be chosen automatically based on the chosen fields…
January 30, 2011 at 9:49 pm #374499Hi
You just need to go to your k2 categories list and select the parent category that holds all the categories you are choosing your filter fields from. In that parent category make sure that in the parameters the same extra fields group is set as it is for all the child categories….once i did this the problem was solved for me.
Good luck

Em</blockquote>Thanks for your response. I was hoping that this would work with different sets of extra fields on my child categories. Oh well…?
