    Thank you for helping…

Using JA Anion template, I have specified a category image in the category manager and set the corresponding men to “Show” in the menu manager.

I am assuming I should now see an image next to or under category name when I do a “List All Categories” page.

Please see three attached images. I am expecting images next to both “Foundations” and “Hermeneutics and Exegesis.”

Should JA Anion support this? … or, am I misunderstanding what a “Category Image” is supposed to do?

    Thank you!

    Kevin

you mean to add an icon to the left of the Category name in the left column ?

Hi Chavan – thank you for helping.

Partly, I just want to know what this “category image” feature is supposed to do. As you can see in my screenshots, the backend administration allows for the designation of an image to be associated with the category. Where is it supposed to be showing up? I would like a full-width, 430px wide image either above or below the title.

you are correct. The category images are provided to be shown on the category page. If you can provide us the site url we can provide you a suggestion.

    Thanks again, Chavan:

The url that will take you to a category list is http://bcr.ncbible.net/index.php/foundations. So far, I have only associated images with two categories: “Foundations” and the first of its sub-categores: “Hermeneutics and Exegesis.”

There is no default view for image in the “Categories View layout” to show the image

    Thanks Chavan.

I’m not sure where you are referring to: “Categories View layout.”

I do have options that refer to category images in three locations:

    (1) in the Basic Options parameters section of the Category Manager (attached image02)
    (2) in the related Global Article Manager Options settings in image04
    (3) and in the Category Options of the Menu Manager (attached image03)?

My question stems from the existence of these places to specify an image (as in my attachments). Given that they exist, there must be some scenario in which I am supposed to see an image related to a category. What is this scenario?

Thank you for all the work answering this.

OK, Chavan. I think I have this figured out.

The images specified for a category show up *only* when viewing the categories from a Menu Item Type of “Categories List.” They will not show when using a Menu Item Type of “List All Categories.”

I have attached two more images to illustrate.

Thank you, Chavan, for so diligently assisting me!
