I would like to customize the background image behind the site (currently headerwrap1.gif etc.) to just one image instead of the different images that are placed in the template now.

    is this possible and how?

(In Dreamweaver, this is very easy to do, but I am just learning the Joomla interface.)

    Thanks in advance.

Do a view source and copy the html from the site
go to drewamweaver and create a new page.
Paste the source inside the CSS folder of the template
Delete the CSS files links or correct it to work with the local CSS file
Work on your templateas if it were a static page making changes to the “real” CSS file
Upload the file and you are done.

Specific to your question, make the divs with the shadow and the BG images transparent by deleting the background image. aPPLY A BG color to the main page and you should be rolling
