April 2, 2010 at 7:59 pm #150084When I select the “fine jewelry” category, I see displayed the “fine jewelry” name…which is fine..
But, below that are the words “children categories”, which I cannot find the interface to either change that or hide those words…
How do I hide the “children categories” display…?http://heartline.douglasmagnus.com/product-categories/fine-jewelry.html

April 2, 2010 at 10:07 pm #338950Yes that does shut off the “children categories”, but unfortunately it also hides the categories themselves…
Thanks for that response, because it just helped me understand the K2 system a little better…

April 4, 2010 at 8:07 pm #339064Thanks again, I am quickly becoming disenchanted with this template because if i use the comments mod, then i have to join the extensions club (extra $) and the K2 stuf is integrated in an awkward fashion that puts all the images outside of the normal /images directory, thus requiring some JCE re-configs for editing, plus I don’t know what else would need tweaking to use the media features of joomla…
And the k2 logins shows me a toally different site ??? I don’t understand what that is about…
I really liked the “catalog” presentation idea and look with K2, but ther are so many other extras that I don’t understand that would require so much research and learning to implement in a usable fashion, that I don’t think this is worth it…
All of the bugs that I have reported have just drawn responses from their developers that are not working (such as your multiple blog report; my slideshow issues that has been dropped from their responses, thus I have dropped my attempts to use the slideshow), and they have reported to you in your post that a new version will be out….
I think that this template’s unstable status should be announced immediately so people don’t continue implementing this template only to find there will be another set of files coming…
Plus it looks totally jumbled in IE8…
Good luck with this….ps5t0ck5 Friendps5t0ck5

April 6, 2010 at 2:45 am #339234Thanks
I think this template, with the new components, needs a person to spend quite a while getting used to how everything works. There does seem to be a lot of jiggling with params for some of the modules.
And yes there are some issues with it…
Maybe you could use another template and set this one up as a subdomain so that you could spend time experimenting? That’s basically what I do until I know my way around a template.
All the best.

April 6, 2010 at 6:27 pm #339354The subdomain idea makes sense to me, it is quite a departure for me with this template, but I really like the look…

April 7, 2010 at 12:44 pm #339482Exactly, that’s why I think it might be worth sticking to it!
Just a thought but I did a complete new install of the stable version which stopped the double image problem. I tried a number of times with the beta but no matter how I set things up I still got double images. If the K2 login shows another site check the module settings in the module manager – you can set params as to which url the login takes you to.

April 7, 2010 at 9:07 pm #339524Great… about solving the double image…gonna try it myself, although when the stable version first came out, I still had the double image as did you, but maybe they have adjusted things even more…will try again…
