I want to show the creation date of all my articles and so I’ve enabled this option however in the JA Opal template the date is displayed only as day/date/month e.g. Sat 12 July. However I also need to add the year to this as well e.g. Sat 12 July 2008 as many of my articles are date sensitive.

Any ideas how I do this?

Sorry, should point out that this happens on the front page and on section blog list pages but when reading the actual article themselves the date is presented as I want, I just need it to be displayed in all areas like this.

Cheers for that. I had seen that thread before but unless I’m misunderstanding it, that is just changing the format from day/date/month to day/month/date.

I don’t know PHP so I don’t know how to edit that line to be day/date/month/year or better still just date/month/year
