Now, you open the file: /templates/ja_vauxite/css/template.css and find the following code:

#ja-headerwrap {
background: url(../images/header.gif) repeat-x left bottom #0d5acc;
position: relative;
z-index: 100;

}

the header is using both, background image and background color, you can replace the background on above code
