June 16, 2008 at 11:40 am #129741Can anyone tell me how to change the images in the media module? I assume that the thumbnails are generated automatically? I have managed to change an image using the html editor but the original thumbnail remains in the highslide tab. The site is about to go live so a speedy response would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Nigel

June 17, 2008 at 10:18 am #254091Thanks for the reply hainn84, I do understand that, What I don’t understand is how I change the images together with the thumbnails and how the thumbnail is generated. I changed one of the first images but the thumbnail remains the same.
Here is the code;
<blockquote><a id=”thumb1″ href=”images/stories/demo/gallery/vmax1.jpg” class=”highslide” onclick=”return hs.expand(this, {outlineType : ‘drop-shadow’, width:640, height:480, captionText:’Sample image’})”> <img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/gl-1.jpg” alt=”Highslide JS” title=”Click to enlarge” height=”55″ width=”85″ /> </a></blockquote>
You can see what I mean if you click the first image which is still showing the original thumbnail at http://www.bikerworkshop.com

June 17, 2008 at 10:53 am #254100Hi nigelta !
In html code :
<blockquote>
<a id=”thumb1″ href=”images/stories/demo/gallery/vmax1.jpg” class=”highslide” onclick=”return hs.expand(this, {outlineType : ‘drop-shadow’, width:640, height:480, captionText:’Sample image’})”> <img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/gl-1.jpg” alt=”Highslide JS” title=”Click to enlarge” height=”55″ width=”85″ /> </a>
</blockquote>
“images/stories/demo/gallery/gl-1.jpg” is path to thumb image .
“images/stories/demo/gallery/vmax1.jpg” is path to full image.1 user says Thank You to Sherlock for this useful post

June 17, 2008 at 2:21 pm #254149Hold on … slow down, this is way too much for me (sorry, still a newbie!).
Could somebody tell me in five easy steps how to change the six images in ‘media’ please?
Serious hacking around in the code to be avoided please 😉
Plus, do images have to be same size as demo site?
Thanks

June 17, 2008 at 3:24 pm #254167Ok here goes 😮
1. Make a note of your image sizes
2. Upload them to /public_html/images/stories/demo/gallery
3. Alter this code: <a id=”thumb1″ href=”images/stories/demo/gallery/yourimage.jpg” class=”highslide” onclick=”return hs.expand(this, {outlineType : ‘drop-shadow’, width:640, height:480, captionText:’Sample image’})”> <img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/yourimage.jpg” alt=”Highslide JS” title=”Click to enlarge” height=”55″ width=”85″ /> </a> – rename them to the same as your own images
4. Alter the size to suit your own image here: <a id=”thumb1″ href=”images/stories/demo/gallery/vmax1.jpg” class=”highslide” onclick=”return hs.expand(this, {outlineType : ‘drop-shadow’, width:640, height:480, captionText:’Sample image’})”> <img src=”images/stories/demo/gallery/gl-1.jpg” alt=”Highslide JS” title=”Click to enlarge” height=”55″ width=”85″ /> </a>
5. Thats it your images should be changed to what you want. You also have to do this via the “html” tab
Hope this helps you 😉

Hi nigelta,
What I want to happen to this module is more ambitious — when the larger photos would appear, I want it to be clickable, and transport the visitor to other sites — maybe an article, a section or a category.
I have done this approach using directly from the thumbnail to the article, a section or a category in the original JA Teline, as well as the photography module in this JA Teline II template; but the approach does not have the feature discussed in this module.
I asked for such more ambitious feature in another thread, but no one responded for a solution.
At any rate, many should benefit from this solution.
For better archival, I am creating a summary of solved postings so that it is easy for customers to locate them.. It beats scrolling scrolling through the Forum sections everytime we want to find if our question has been answered before. Sometimes the search option does not get all of them.
Can you please add the link to this post in the appropriate thread:

http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/links-to-solved-problems-known-bugs-of-joomla-1-0x-ja-teline-ii/Since some threads could be very long, can you please provide the following:
1. Original post heading:
2. Link
3. Your name (username)
4. Summary:
a. Brief description of the problem or question and desired goal
b. Proposed solution to the problem that worked
c. Please provide an image capture of the before and after, if possible.Without any Manual, How To’s or FAQ, the database of these solved problems may go a long way to help each other.
Thanks,
Cornelio

June 22, 2008 at 8:46 am #255256Just to come back to this one …
how to remove the “Powered by JA Highslide”??
I’m sure I found this in a thread a few weeks ago, but decided to leave it alone as it seemed very complicated. Now I’m a bit more experienced, I’ll happily give it a try!!
Thanks

Chris</blockquote>Hi Chris,
What would be more useful and good for the site, would be the option to change the “Powered by JA Highslide” (which if you click brings you to the Highslide page — an ad promo obviously) with the URL to either an article, section or category page. This would be a way that visitors to a site can be enticed to visit sites that they did not plan to visit, just from the appeal of what is beyond one of the images.
I know a way to do that already, for example by revising the “Photography” module, but the Photography module does not have the feature of the JA Highslide to present a larger image.

June 23, 2008 at 5:00 am #255380I just came across this, which was posted by hainn84 in another thread:
So, my guess is, changine “true” to “false” in hs.showCredits would remove the whole Powered By and link altogether?
Alternatively, changing the hs.creditesText, the hs.creditsHref and hs.creditsTitle will allow us to point the images to another site?

Hi Chris,
I think if you answer false, it will prevent the ones below to show also. The True or False was in response to another earlier when a customer criticize the use of the images as advertisement venue for Joomlart.
As to the changes in the three choices, it will do it but the same link to all the images. I posted another thread on this, to see if anyone would provide a solution
Yet another Highslide question
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/yet-another-highslide-question/What I am requesting can be done. I just do not know the script for it.

July 1, 2008 at 8:21 am #257347Hi Everyone
Just ‘reopen’ this one for a minute.
I finally got round to doing this today. Changed the image in the gallery, no problem, thumbnail and large pic working fine … Thanks Nigel!
😀
Then, as I was on a roll, decided to change the ‘Powered by JA Highslide’ stuff at the top. Now, previous instruction was to change this code in the highslide-with-html.js file:
However, do I assume that this code is actually for Joomla 1.0? The reason is, I’ve just tried this myself, but my code looks like this:
Having said that, I changed this code, put in my own URL, credits and Title, saved the file and replaced the one on the server … and … nothing changed! I’ve still got the original ‘Powered by JA Highslide’ on my images.
Any ideas anybody?
