On my desktop computer the menu shows in 2 lines. I want it in 1 line as on my iPad. Where can I change that? I also want to reduce the white space between the logo and the menu. See attachments.

Please share your site url so i can check it on your site . But as the menu item already fill full space of the header it will becomes in the 2nd line as they have not full space to show them in one line .

But on tablet (iPad) the menu shows in 1 line.
When the width of the screen is more than 1024 px the menu takes 2 lines. Why?
I think I have to change these settings – see attachment – but I do not know where to change them.

Hi The span size is defined in /tpls/blocks/header.php File .
Make Sure total width of header from span12 . Logo , main nav and right sides modules
