    Hi, Does anybody know where I can change the tab text color for position user1 in my ja_cooper template?

    The site is, http://www.inquisitionisgreat.com

    I’m trying to change the Mmo Champion, Wowhead, Thottbot text from gray to white so it will stand out more but am having a hard time finding it in the code. I’ve been looking around the carbon.css color but have not been able to find it.

    I have a mod_wrapper in user 1 set up to display through ja_tabs if that helps.

    #ja-botsl2 div.moduletable h3 span {
    background:#222222 none repeat scroll 0 0;
    border-left:4px solid #404040;
    color:#FFFFFF;
    }

    add line in red

    Hi johnked,

    The solution of jsilao is on the money.

    Would you be interested to learn on your own, how he did it?

    You might ask: Why should I bother, when there is always someone here who answers promtly?

    True. But, what if no one would answer your question, at some point? More than likely, you may want to change some other layout features, or image and text specifications in the future.

    The long term solution then is learn the skills on how to answer similar questions on your on, eventually.

    It may be more difficult, since you need to do some “learning process”. But your reward is that you would learn exactly how jsilao solve your question, so quickly.

    If you want to take this step towards being more independent, I initiated a thread:

    All you ever wanted to know to change the layout, image and text specifications

    towards this common goal. It is not perfect yet. I am not also a very good writer, so I encourage others to help develop and help write a more clear and succint tutorial. It will help also, if those trying to learn how to do it, would ask specific questions.

    In case you think it is too much trouble for you, and you are not interested, just ignore this post.

    oh my oh my Sorry could not resist to answer that post Cornelio. We all were in one time in the past total newbie. Takes time to learn all, server issues, php, css, html, java etc etc. So we found joomla…and here we go……hundreds of extensions… with different configuration, layouts, graphic design, Photoshop or fireworks depends on template provider etc. Yes we all learning all the time. It is not true that one always ask and is answered.

    I learn because of kindness of others to answer questions.. and I answer in return what I learn when I have time. That is called progress. We are all users … on one forum or the other depending on what we learning.. So don’t be too harsh on people who sometimes ask. Yes even in this forum most of the questions are related not to templates but to joomla knowldge, css knowledge, graphics etc. But that is whole beauty about it. By answering silly questions one can browse topics and when afraid to ask find answers. I always say Bravo to those who are not afraid to ask! only way to learn. I am so many times spend hours for answer – simply because ashamed of my own ignorance sometimes. So many times I spend hours and we all do till early morning .. when answer could be just one sentence from a friendly soul. Sometimes they are basics….but omg we all sometimes forget basics.

    di38,

    I do answer a lot of the same questions asked here. As you can see, I did not earn those thanks from others just by posting responses like this, even if I have been away from Joomlart more than I have been here. I ask a lot of questions myself, when I have difficulty. My thanks to other people were mostly given also only when their help proved useful.

    So do not be so quick to judge my intentions without knowing where I am coming from or what I am trying to do. It is possible that I have not just written it in a manner that would convey my intentions — but believe me, it is not to put down nor to be harsh to anyone .

    A case in point is questbg. When he started, he was brave enough to admit that he did nit know anything about webpage scripting. Because he took the time to learn, he now is one of those who have helped others. When he learned enough to start helping others, we have collaborated also in the past to create tutorials, for non-English speaking members. Then, Ana admired what we were doing, she collaborated with us also and then she created the Spanish version of the manual.

    We have plans to create more tutorials.

    Have you ever taught a senior citizen who has never have used a computer before, and begin to learn actually how to use one? I did, and it is amazing what sort of questions more experienced users take for granted that would be a struggle to someone who is just beginning. A tutorial written by someone in the same situation would be more easily understood by another in the same situation. Believe me, even now, since I have no programming background, I find myself in the same shoes many times..

    Thus, I thought a tutorial done from the perspective of someone just starting, or in collaboration with them,. would be more effective. What would be gained from such a collaboration may be a more detailed Question and Answer (FAQs) not just concocted but actually actual questions asked by and from the perspective of people who are less experienced.

    In this regard, when needed, in a number of occasions, I actually recreated the Demo website in order to experience the same problem. I even offered my server for others to try to show that the problems they encounter may be a server issue, an issue due to the version, etc. That was how we as members. I spent days sometimes, and in one situation, we spent weeks before we uncovered some of the most difficult bugs associated with Teline II.

    If you look at the number of posts in Teline II, you will understand why. It was through collaborative efforts by members and some staff. Had members not tried to involve themselves, I don’t think Joomlart would have even bothered to correct them.

    Sorry if you misunderstood my intensions. I am not being harsh or that was my intent, as you portrayed. I have been in situations where my questions are not being answered. So, one of the solutions, if it is possible for one to learn it (mainly for those with no background in programming).

    There are actually people who wanted to learn the general procedure, and I am trying to strike a collaboration with them, to create tutorials that are prepared by those in the same level.

    At the same time, there are a number of members also who have been here as long as I have, but because someone may answer, they are still asking the same kinds of questions that could by now they could have answered on their own — if they wanted to go deeper, learn as they are asking questions.

    If you think, this is not important you are past that stage, or you feel offended by my proposal, then I understand. I said the same in my previous response.

    But, do not assume that everyone else may react as you do. Some may actually would have wanted to do it the way I suggested, if given more guidance.

    Really Sorry Cornellio.. I think I misunderstood you. I have been new to Joomlart myself.

    ****, Now I have to make apologies! I do agree with you ..but look at this like I do…….nobody can ever take knowledge from you ever, you can lose everything in your life: Like I did : family, material possession but if you eager to learn – like you are! and smart you always be on top one way or the other:) You know what they say – what goes around comes around.

    If I can be of any assistance I am still new to joomla and programming and databases and all that but I know over 400 various software.. You can count me in. And I speak couple of languages. English is my second.. so if you need any help let me know…I can be in. Love the idea. I can even give some traffic on my hosting server.

    🙂 huge smile. World belong to these who have pleasure in giving .. cuz you are rich

    Much appreciated di38,

    Kindly include me in your contact list, and I will get back to you when I have installed a new site to replace the old one.

    They have transferred my sites lately and I am myself encountering unexpected problems with the update of Teline II — did not have this problem before. To top it off, last night the chord that recharges the battery of my very old notebook (almost 6yo bought in 2003) shortcircuited. I cannot access alll my data right now or use it (in sleep mode right now), and I can only use an even older iMac (almost 10yo) — which is working but everything — browsers, OS, etc. are barely compatible with existing internet softwares.

    “over 400 various software”? This must be something you do for a living? I can barely count with my fingers and toes, the softwares I am familiar with. Are you a programmer, web designer or something?

    Cornelio
