February 1, 2008 at 11:04 am #237931What part of “IF JOOMLART DECIDEDS TO TAKE THIS ROUTE” don’t you understand? I never said that they have done anything wrong to date. This is a discussion about “IF” this happens.
As far as your McDonald’s “logic”, I’d love to have some of whatever you’re smokin’. I don’t subscribe to the “McDonald’s Menu Club”. They can change whatever they want to with no complaints from me. When they change their menu, I’m given the choice of what to buy, and then I’m served that product. In JA’s case, I was given a choice of what to buy, and am POTENTIALLY not going to be served the product I ordered.
You’re making this way too personal. The weirdest thing is you come right back and say;

As much as I disagree with the arguments posted by the other side, I think there should be a way to come to a decent compromise. After all, Joomlart should have considered the ramifications of its ad. In fact, if indeed Joomlart, takes unilateral action — without attempting to find a compromise with the disgruntled members — any disgruntled customer will have legal foundation to sue. That possibility will be very costly to Joomlart. As equally damaging, the name of Joomlart may be irreparably damaged, if it becomes associated with the reputation that Joomlart does not honor its words.

:p:confused:>:(:((:eek: <–split personality
February 1, 2008 at 11:19 am #237933I am okay with 1 template per month.
JA templates are outstanding and the technology of joomla is getting even more complex. I tried hacking together a template from scratch…..painful 🙂
Thanks for the great templates 😀

February 1, 2008 at 11:56 am #237935I agree with you, joomlart provides more usable templates but lack technical support. 1 per month is ok if it s bug free and if support works.
@dragonlord 38855 wrote:
I voted for 1/month too, because i also think that it will improve the quality of the templates. The reason because i joined Joomlart ant not Rockettheme or Yootheme is the sytle of the Joomlaart Templates, they are cleaner and more minimalistic than those from Rockettheme or Yootheme with her PHP exploded Templates. But the Support and the Integration of Modules is better solved by the other Templates Club and i’m sure the reason is the 1 Template per month Development. So Joomlart should do 1 Template per mounth, but please new ones!

Wow! Did you ever read what was stated in the title? Here is the statement that is most crucial to understand:
“However, as much as I disagree with the arguments posted by the other side, I think there should be a way to come to a decent compromise. …”
The reality from the Poll is that your side will lose. Then all you can do is ‘shout’ here. If the Joomlart moderators find that this forum gets heated and ugly, they may exercise their power to silence you.
Then if the losing side is so determined, the only recourse you have is to take legal action — if you want to continue “shouting” for your rights. It will not be good for everyone — not good for your side, not good for Joomlatt and not good for those of us who support the direction that Joomlart wants to take.
So, what would be good for all? To come to a compromise — find a solution that will acceptable to Joomlart, to those who support the direction that Joomlart wants to take, that at the same time, accomodate how to deal with your side — without just completely disregarding you.
Would you not like that to happen? That your point of you be heard and be considered — to find a compromise solution that will to a degree be considerate of the goal of each?
So, I ask you this specifically:
@cgc0202 38906 wrote:

… exactly how Joomlart should make things so that they would — to quote your terms and emphasis — MORALLY or LEGALLY make it right with the members who have already paid? …
and listed possible choices that you may consider. And, ask you to share your own, if you think I have not fully grasp among the choices, what you want done?
But, you chose to ignore that — to clarify what you really want in case they are magnanimous enough to do so.
Since you have no interest to share what you really want done, it is counterproductive to continue any discussion with you. Goodluck with whatever you wish to accomplish here.
When (and not IF) Joomlart makes the move to single template per month, I wish you luck to find the next template company o give what you want.

February 1, 2008 at 3:12 pm #237946@Menalto 38917 wrote:
They have asked for the users suggestions.
When will it happen?D. When the change will be applied.
If we receive positive feedbacks and preferred votings for about 2 weeks, the change will be applied within this January.I dont think it will happen if you ask me

Indeed, it is now February. And, as I stated, it is in the best interest of the majority of the customers that what Hung outlined will happen… However, it may come back to haunt Joomlart to ignore the concerns of those who, as they stated, came to Joomlart because of their Ads that they will offer two templates the next 12 months.
It is a surprise to me that Joomlart still keeps on placing that Ads, if they will take the course of single template per month in the near future. Menalto, if they listen to you, please tell them to remove that Ads — it provides ammunition to the allegations of the other side.
Joomlart also must find a way to see and understand the perspective of those who bought the Joomlart license because they are expecting two templates per month.
I enumerated some possibilities here:
Joomlart finding a decent compromise with those who are aggrieved
Joomlart should create another Offical Poll — perhaps with options indicated in the aforementioned link — to address the concerns of the critics of the planned transition to single template per month.
Among the choices given in the dummy sample poll in the above link, the most difficult option is the fourth, if that is what the critics prefer. But, it is doable. The features of each template are after all modular.
It is like cooking, add this, remove that, place a bit more garlic or oregano, etc. Wella, you have a new template. Something old, something new, as they say in fashion.
I can even help prepare complete “generic” instructions, if need be.

February 1, 2008 at 3:50 pm #237949It’s one thing to create a poll but it’s another to have all 14,000 members be able to vote in this poll. JA is currently putting an email system in place to stay in better contact wit its member as MiCCAS said in somewhere in these threads about this poll. I also understand that this was going to take some time to develop and when done and JA still wants to go to 1 template a month they would then email all members and give them a chance to have their say. To go back and forth over and over again about burgers and such is silly as we are not at a point to take an actual vote of all members. Nothing has been decided yet. Time to move on and wonder what the next template will be.

LOL! 79 votes out of 14,927 members and counting? That’s 1/2 of a percent of the membership base…LOL!!!!!
“All you can do is shout here….” Are you kidding? Because I state my opinion, and layout simple facts, you consider that shouting? And threats of being silenced? That’s typical. When someone has an opinion that is contrary to what you believe, just censor them, or try to anyway.
I’m not sure where you are bud, but I live in the U.S. We have what you would call FREEDOM OF SPEECH. If you’re not familiar with that term, it means that a CITIZEN can freely express their opinion on something without being censored by the government or anybody for that matter.
Last bit – “Your side…” What exactly is my side? Read my first post and you tell me. I believe I said I would be OK with the change under reasonable conditions.
I understand where you’re coming from, but for me, I can’t ignore misrepresentation of the facts. When I posted on this thread, I really had no intention of going back and forth and talking about burgers and such, but when someone can’t see the facts when a situation is black and white, I had to try and come up with something elementary that maybe they would understand.
Anyway, good point about what the next template will be???@ja (miccas, hung, etc…)
Read through my posts. You tell me how I feel about your business. Regardless of the decision, I’ll continue to be a member, I’m simply expressing my opinion on one issue.
Which reminds me, back @ cgc0202……

And I never planned on leaving JA. I like their templates, plain and simple. I just think many others will.
February 1, 2008 at 6:46 pm #237955All I have to say is if JA switches to 1 template per month I want more uses of the templates or my term doubled. Period!

February 1, 2008 at 7:19 pm #237961Sorry, but we are going to have to agree to disagree. This thing was settled the day it entered their mind.
Whether they do the right thing or not is another matter.

February 1, 2008 at 7:31 pm #237962It would be nice to hear JA’s stand on the matter as of today.
I appreciate the fact that they are trying to put together an e-mail to send to all members, and I’m sure they’re under the gun trying to release Feb’s template, but it would be nice to hear their opinion to date…
