If quality (ie quickstart works perfectly on ff2,ie6,ie7) and the focus is on a sharp look that is easily customised I’d defintely opt for 1 per month. Native J1.5 Quickstart should shortly be your focus.

I’ve spent hours fixing bugs … on JA and RT templates … focus on strong release quality management

I really think there should be a way to force all users of IE6 to upgrade to ie 7 or their computer will blow up ! Then 90 % of all web design problems wouldn’t be there?

    If ONLY that were true

    Check this out http://www.webstandards.org/files/acid2/test.html

Both firefox AND ie7 stuff this up completely…hate to think what ie6, opera, safari and the rest would do to it!

As it relates to the quality of the templates as well as JA in general, why is it that JA uses shared hosting?

Last week it was bandwidth exceeded and this week half the time I try to get here JA won’t load at all.

Are you serious? You saw a bandwidth exceeded and know they are on shared hosting? It would wxplain why it is always next to impossible to connect with this site. Come on JA with 40,000 members you can’t afford a dedicated hosting account?

I am certain that it is shared hosting? NO But as someone who once owned their own server and now rents a VPS, I have never seen the “exceeded bandwidth” notice unless it was shared. I could be wrong, but it would explain why it is so hard to connect all the time.

They are not on a shared hosting i think, if i was them i would really look after another host.

I saw the bandwidth exceeded page too, it was there for a few hours.

Wow, since I said that the thing started to move like a bullet!! This is the fastest I have ever seen JA load in my life.

    Good for you JA.

No kidding…lightning fast. I use to get so annoyed waiting for JA’s pages to load. Anyway, hope it stays like this. Very impressive.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There must be a way! You know what…there is. Somehow we need to convince Microsux that they would make even more money if their browsers installed with auto update software. What do you think?

We can only hope that access becomes easier but right now it seems okay…It will not last though. :((

    We’re working on it guys!

And no decision has been made about the 1 template a month, however I feel this change will not occur.

Either way no decision will be made without an email first.

well I remember when IE7 final came out all users that had check for IE updates enabled in their browser got the update page that said hey IE 7 is available click here to update and from memory in an IE6 install the allow updates feature was usually enabled etc so 90 % of IE 6 users had the chance to ug, now those on dial up prolly gave up hee hee and the rest were too old to know what a browser was or lazy? 😉

I just think Mickysoft should be forced by the DOJ to remove IE from windows making it an optional component and being made to include the latest version of Firefox and Opera with windows distros, allowing the punter to choose which one to install then we’d get a good view of what the informed market wants to use?

    Hi,
why not drop the development for J.1.0.x! Please do a poll about that ….
No one will start a project using the old system. Of course there are a lot of extensions not compatible but i think this will change these extensions are really needed.

I signed up for two templates a month for a year – so i would like to get exactly that!

I disagree ..I think some people will continue with 1.014 projetcs. the Joomla core team themselves have said if you dont need to go 1.5 immediately dont. It will take some time for people to get their heads around it.

Though I do agree the energy should be put into 1.5
