The Forum as I see it was originally set up so we could help ourselves.
It is been implied by JA that they support their products and without digging for evidences, you will see from the start of this thread (See B#5). There is also a talk about ticket system. In the eyes of the law, that is good enough for our court system. But whose law? The reason I don’t read such documents is that we are in different countries and laws need jurisdictions. In cyberspace, I only deal with a company or a person I trust. JA seem to be hard working, talented and with great integrity and discipline. That is why I renewed my subscription with JA and not because I have a court or BBB to protect my interest. The arguments from Mr Hung Dinh in the first section (A #1- #5) are good and he deserves our support. I am not, however, convinced about the outcome stated in section B. At any rate, the road map for the club need to be clarified.

January 5, 2008 at 11:19 am #235795I am considering to rejoin due to the ad on the first page. But if I rejoin, this would be because I expect 24 templates.
What would happen if you decide to switch to 1 per month? Would you compensate me and how you will do that?

January 5, 2008 at 12:18 pm #235800This is a good idea. I prefer have quality template and good support for third part extensions. I believe that we will have a very good end well organised templates from joomlart.
Good luck.

Mate, I can assure you I feel your pain. This is the reason why JoomlArt have undergone a meeting and will be restructuring a lot of things. We’ve employed new support staff, and the system in which we will be developing new templates will change – whether it be one per month or two.
Keep the comments coming guys, we are listening!

January 5, 2008 at 1:04 pm #235806Here’s another suggestion for you.
If you must go to one template a month, have one of your talented designers such as Menalto release for download a “customization” of that template as your mid-month release. Rockettheme does this in their RocketLabs section and it’s quite a hit.
This might open up new ways to use the same template and would lessen the blow of losing the second monthly template.
January 6, 2008 at 12:40 pm #235892@mfcphil 36124 wrote:
A lot of you who are moaning about the lack of support should read the terms clearly

Hmmm, since the bush lawyers are out and about. Here is what it clearly states during sign up
I just need a membership to download JA templates and support. and
I want to get full support about all JA Extensions I’ve downloaded. So us people MOANING about support I believe have a case to argue, but, before hitting me with a whole heap of crappy clauses and contractual law…have a bit of a look through the forums.
Sure there are plenty of questions there that should not have to be dealt with by the dev team and in fact ARE generally handled by the mods and/or the membership. But unfortunately there are also many instances where neither mods nor members can respond as it is clearly a dev team issue……and in almost ALL cases when the question/request gets too hard it is just ignored and thats wrong
Now I don’t expect Joomlart dev team to have to teach everyone how to do Joomla, but I do expect reasonable requests to be responded to. Some serious issues have been raised and rather than answering them, they have just been completely ignored in the past and this is NOT ON!. If it wasn’t for Miccas and a couple of the other guys in here it would be a dogs breakfast.
If the dev guys program something that doesn’t work, it should be fixed or removed and an explanation given. Its pretty simple and saves people a lot of time. Simple requests for ADVERTISED PRODUCTS such as quickstarts are absolutley reasonable. If the template advert says there is a quickstart then there should be one and if there isn’t people have a right to ask and a right to be responded too….Most people are not gonna care if one of the dev team says, it will be ready in 2-3 days or 8-10 days and MOST will appreciate being kept in the loop about it. It only adds to the frustration and aggravation if they are just ignored.
Now I don’t wanna go searching through forums for evidence and spitting it out here, cos there is enough of it there to say to Hung and the team that Joomlart need to get it sorted. Their templates are great (mostly) but if something is broken or missing it needs to be fixed in a timely manner
IMO Hung is doing the polite thing by asking about the one template per month and there WILL be people who don’t/won’t accept that and some refunds may be required and or membership extensions. Personally, Id be happy with one quality template a month with all advertised parts supplied and in the event of a problem, questions need to be answered and solutions given BY THE GUYS WHO DID THE CODE!
so…..”ducking for cover”
Right now the VOTE is kinda useless, why is there only 31 votes out of 14k members, its hardly representative and can hardly be used as a reason for change. Perhaps an email to the membership, as it is obvious not too many are following this thread!
January 6, 2008 at 5:54 pm #235913The big assumption is that if they reduce to one template that it will be super high quality and come with support. Who said thats what would happen? I think you guys are assuming an awful lot. Maybe this sounds harsh and I really don’t mean it to be, but what you see is what you are going to get….minus one template per month of course.
I believe that what JA, RT, and a few other template companies provide a fantastic product and a tremendous value and if JA were cut to one template we would still be getting a great deal. However, the problem is they need to deliver what was promised or make those affected whole.
If this was a company in the US and they were non-stop advertising 24 in 12 and then changed the terms soon after purchase I believe they would have a legal issue. 🙁

January 6, 2008 at 6:51 pm #235914JA would increase the quality just like they met the promised January 5 release date for this month’s template. Oh wait….
Anybody that thinks the quality of templates will increase because JA says so needs to have their head examined. Read through these forums and tell me how confident you are in them keeping their word.
If they implement this change, you will get HALF the templates you paid for and there will be NO change in quality. It’s that simple folks. Don’t be sheeple.

TeeTide: The only reason for the delayed release is a bug found in the product, and I am confident in saying I am sure no-one here would want a release with this bug.So far we have still kept to our agreement of 2 templates per month, without delay, whilst some complain it has been delayed this is usually due to the expectation of it being released on the 1st and 15th of every month.

And you should continue to keep to your agreement of 2 templates per month without delay.

January 7, 2008 at 2:19 pm #235962And why noone answers my question, what would happen if I rejoin and you change the number of releases to one? Would you double my term or will you repay half of my money? As I see a current offer for 24 templates in the next 12 months, I wanna know if this is what I should expect.

January 8, 2008 at 6:29 pm #236056thank you JA Team for listening your customers and makeing changes. i like 2 templates in month , but even more i love quality.. so i voted for NOW 🙂
and also i must say that i love JA because most of JA templates are bright and light 🙂 thats good! thank you JA 🙂
January 8, 2008 at 6:46 pm #236059
D. When the change will be applied.
If we receive positive feedbacks and preferred votings for about 2 weeks, the change will be applied within this January.
The more I read that quote and see the ad on the front page for 24 in 12 the angrier I get. I would like to hear from Hung what he will do to make those people whole should he change the terms.
JA has to have more than 1000 members and basing a decision this large on the vote of 38 people is obscene.
