I give,

I have tried editing the CSS to change the higlight color of the Top Menu from “orange” to a color more in tune with my webstie and I can not seem to get it.

Can someone tell me how to change the highlight color on the Top Menu?

Change it in the appropriate css file of the menu. Example, it is the css file in folder ja_transmenu if you are using Transmenu.
