Hello where can i change the buttons.

When i change thebutton under.

root/components/com_virtuemart/themes/default/images

add-to-cart.gif

it does change anything in the template as well.

how can i change the buttons?

look in the template javascript, use a search in psdpad or notepadd++, its there.
The JS is used to override the VM code.

you need to make changes to the css files also, you can use firefox with the firebug plugin to track down all of the references and then edit the files manually using notepad++ or textpad
