Hi,
I’ve looked everywhere (including USER GUIDE) for an anwser as to how to change the Colored Titles in JA NEWS on the front page. Please see attached screenshot. I thought maybe I could find them in the Source-PSD file but they where not in there.

Glad to hear it, that’s usually the easier part!!

These will change automatically as you start to modify the Quick Start demo site into your own site.

Assuming you’re using Joomla 1.5.x

1. Log into Admin. Go to ‘Section Manager’ and then modify one of the demo section (for instance, open the ‘World’ section and change the name of this to something else ie. ‘Football’).

2. Then go to ‘Category Manager’ and you can change the names of the categories that used to be under ‘World’ in the demo site (Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa), open each one and change to what you want them to be (British Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, etc.). If don’t need four categories, just unpublish one, if you need more, we’ll cover that later!

3. This is the final stage that ties the whole site together. Go to the ‘Menu’s menu (if that makes sense!) and open ‘Magazine’ menu. Verify that the ‘new’ renamed Section and the four new renamed categories are correct.

Check on the front end of the site and the ‘top’ navigation menu should have your new section/category names and also the headings in JA News should now have changed too.

Simply continue as above until you have all your sections/categories in place.

Hey Chris,
Wow…I thought I only had to make a small change in a PSD image somewhere and replace the image. I’m still trying to figure out how it all ties together. I’m a Telline newbie and absolutly LOVE the template and not much out there that can compare to the looks and layout. I took a “peek” at your website by the way, and it’s awesome! Very nice…you gave me addtional inspiration for mine.

I love the real esate section you added. I was thinking about adding something like that as I’m building a local community website and that would be a nice addtion. Thanks for your help!

No worries!

Just crack on now with changing sections, categories and menus. Once that’s done the site will very much start becoming your own!

Thanks for the kind words about my site … it’s only been ‘live’ a few weeks but seems quite popular so far! Of course, I’m sure there will be more changes along the way.
