I am using template JA Procyon – can you tell me how to change the entire red portion of the header? I was able to change the two pictures, but I would like to replace the entire header. Your help and guidance is appreciated since I am a neophyte at this.

You should replace the header part of the index.php file of the template with your new codes. The file is well commented so I think you can tweak it quite easily
