HI, sorry if this is a noob question,

but i can’t change the colors of my Brisk template.

I went to Template Manager.
Change the current style to JA Brisk Orange and saved.

but when i preview the site, it is still blue as default would be.

please advice, and i am sorry because this is my 1st time using joomlart templates

Is your JA Brisk Orange the default template ?

Then you should verify that your Home menu item in Main menu has the correct template style applied

thank you, that works.

do i need to change all menu templates? shouldn’t it applied to all when i change the main template?

No – you should only have it set as default style , then all menu items should have template assigned to default.
