I have always been able to do this, but I am still learning the T3 structure. I am wanting to reduce the width of the slideshow area and the tops1 area, I want to do this so that the right module position would be to the right of the slide show and at the top.

Try this :

Go to come to the templates’ configuration, => click to the layout tabs and edit the default layout. Find and remove:
<block name=”slideshow” type=”modules” style=”raw”>slideshow</block>- you find:
<block name=”content-mass-top” style=”raw”>content-mass-top</block>replace:
<block name=”content-mass-top” style=”raw”>slideshow,content-mass-top</block>2) when done, go to the configuration of the slideshow2 module and change value for the Main Item width parameter
