I am changing the url of my site. Is there anything in Joomla I have to change. I contacted the hosting company and have the sql database where the site is being hosted to the new url. I changed the site name in Joomla. Is there anything else I need to change in Joomla to ensure that it works properly?

Hi
For website moving, you can use Akeeba for easier way.
Beside that if you are using VirtueMart you’ll need update their config file for new location path.
And in joomla configuration.php update your live site URL.
If you are using any fixed URL in site ( for anything: images / css … ) you’ll need update it.

if you are just changing the domain that is typed into the browser to access the site, than you shouldn’t have to change anything (with the exception of things like Virtuemart where having the correct url is important).
If you are actually moving the site files to a different place on the server in order to have them accessed by the new domain, then you might have to do some editing of the configuration file.
Again, if you are leaving the site files where they are, and just accessing them through a different domain name that is pointed at the same location, you shouldn’t have to do anything for Joomla! to work correctly.
