September 19, 2013 at 10:08 pm #190752I have been trying to get the child products(cart variant/custom fields) to show up on the product details page in this template. I have created a custom site with this template and it did not work. So I deleted everything, started from scratch and only used data that comes with the template. Still not showing up.
I have looked at every thread on this, but not one discussed in detail this option of the child products(cart variant/custom fields) option. I switched to the standard Beez5 template and it worked. Again, I did not customize or change the template, css or any code, just deleted the products and created my own product, child products and category. As you can see, I set up the child products/cart variant/plug-in correctly.
I also tried the recommendation in this thread http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showt…l=1#post376750
Using the template straight from the Joomlart site, Joomla 2.5.14, with Virtuemart 2.0.22a

September 20, 2013 at 12:18 am #506407Hi,
Does this work for you for custom fields?
I made that modification and I got custom fields to show.
All the best,
Calavaro

September 20, 2013 at 4:22 am #506431Unfortunately it did not. I used the code from that post, replaced that section in every css and less for every color of the template and the default as well. Cleaned cache, zero change. I think it is something else in the template causing the issue. I never had a problem getting custom fields to show up, but doing it the way I explained above, did not work. I tried all other cart variant options and none of them showed up.
Thanks for the suggestion.

September 20, 2013 at 5:24 am #506439Hi jonhausam,
You can backup your files and try to follow our supporter’s tip at http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/custom-stockable-variants-plugin-seems-not-to-work/#post-495124
Don’t forget to inform me your result.

September 20, 2013 at 3:40 pm #506497Tried the tip as detailed. It did not fix the issue, you still see zero variants on the product details page. When you add to cart, it takes the highest valued variant. I also noticed that the add to cart was not working properly. I have deleted the site, reloaded fresh again from Joomlart download, still same issue. When you add cart variant with inventory, like this post show, http://www.flexiblewebdesign.com/forum-virtuemart-2-template-puremart-support/152-tutorial-custom-field-with-stockable-variants
not only does the cart variant not show up, you can’t change quantity and when you add to cart, you are then forwarded to the shopping cart page, which is empty. I then went to another product, where I did not change or add cart variants or custom fields and the quantity and add to cart worked perfectly.
HMMMMMM.

September 21, 2013 at 7:12 am #506545Hi jonhausam,
In generally, our JA Hawkstore template does support Cart variant, Child product, String type, except Stockable variants with VM 2.0.22b. But, it seems that you updated to latest VM 2.0.22c which was already available few weeks ago that is why you got problem with using the custom field types on our template. Anyways, i will transfer this issuse to our dev team for the bug fix in the next updates of our JA Hawkstore template. You can track on the work flow at http://pm.joomlart.com/browse/JATCHAWKS-91
The temporary solution is installing our JA Hawkstore template again on a test server, then you can use the Cart Variant, Child Product type of Custom Fields without editing any VM files.

I did that before I reloaded my test site again. Please try, as I was unable to get stockable variants to load using the template straight from Joomlart. Look at my first post, that’s 2.0.22a straight from your site, no updates. Is there a way to do cart variant child products without stockable levels? I was using the plug-in cart variant. I have reloaded a brand new site, deleted all products except one in the wheels section, and no plug-in cart variant with stockable showing.
Thank you again for your help.

September 22, 2013 at 2:34 am #506591Hi jonhausam,
The plugin custom field type (Stockable Variants) got problems from the first release of JA Hawkstore template 1.0.0 because the customized js on overridden VM layout. With this type of issue, our developers who understand the VM override on JA Hawkstore, will reproduce the issue and adjust any conflicts with the bug fix. It will better that we should be patient for the next updates.
In this case, i suggest you to try on the JA Hawkstore template v1.0.0 on your test site that you can work with some custom field types (Child Product, String, Cart variant), except Plugin. Then, you can apply the new updated changes into the current version without updating the template.

September 23, 2013 at 2:27 pm #506747Thanks Leo. I will wait for stocking variants plugin to be fixed. So I just did a simple custom field string, with cart attribute and I could not get that to display on the product details page. I checked the Beez5 template and the string showed up. I also double checked the css trick calavaro recommended above, but no luck. I am sure I am doing something simple or just missing an easy fix.
I have also reinstalled a fresh new joomla and vm version 2.0.22a, as you recommended. I tried every stock variant or custom field, but could not get anything to show up. You mentioned in the bug report http://pm.joomlart.com/browse/JATCHAWKS-91
Note: Stockable variants worked fine when I tested on J.25 fresh Joomla installation with VM 2.0.22a ~ Leo
Would you mind explaining how you got that to work?
Thanks.

September 24, 2013 at 1:03 am #506803Hi johausam,
I wrote: In generally, our JA Hawkstore template does support Cart variant, Child product, String type, except Stockable variants with VM 2.0.22b, in this 6th reply.
In this case, i suggest you to try on the JA Hawkstore template v1.0.0 on your test site that you can work with some custom field types (Child Product, String, Cart variant), except Plugin, in my latest reply.
I’d like to remind you about my suggestion that you can try with the older version of JA Hawkstore template with the component VM 2.0.22b. Anyways, I have also sent you PM with the download link of older quickstart version. You can download it and try to configure the Custom Fields, except Plugin type (Stockable variants).
In addition, it will be better for us to assist you more on this concern if you can raise a ticket at http://support.joomlart.com/ with the detailed website’s credentials. You know, we still don’t release the stable fix on this problem at this time, maybe i can help you to adjust VM codes if needed.

September 24, 2013 at 8:51 pm #506905Success, so after much back and forth with cart variants and different versions of Hawkstore and VM 2.022 a, b and c, I figured out that if you want cart variants, download Hawkstore version 1.0.0, and wait for the next stable upgrade when they have the bugs worked out for cart variants, and stockable plug-ins. Thanks Leo for the patience and discovery.

October 10, 2013 at 1:49 am #508523Hi blonderenditions,
You can download the JA Hawkstore 1.0.0 at http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=3379. By default, we don’t includes the overridden css styles of VM Custom Fields on our template so that you will sometimes have to fit the VM layout.
If you need a help on giving the overridden css styles on Custom Fields, you can raise a ticket at http://support.joomlart.com/ with your website’s admin login. We will help you to fit that VM layout directly on your website.

October 20, 2013 at 10:24 pm #509610Hi, I have exactly the same problem with the same template.
I need stockable varinants and Hawkstore decided me to subscribe with you folks, now I got this ugly surprise.
Any idea of how is it going?I have installed the 1.0.2 template. Is the fix about to release or should I get from you the 1.0.0 template?
Thanks in advance.
I’m using Joomla! 2.5.14 Stable and VM 2.0.24
