March 27, 2008 at 4:04 pm #127005I would like to request instruction, and a better understanding on how to choose the layouts you provde inside the avian template.
You provide the following layouts:
- Extra Modules
- No Extra Modules
- 1 Column Left
- 1 Column Right
- 2 Columns ( left + right )
I have enclosed screenshots of the layouts and menu locations, etc below.
HOW DO I CHOOSE THESE? I know if I choose WRAPPER it will make a wrapper thats full length and has no modules/menus on each side.
I simply DO NOT understand how to choose which layout would go where? If I have MY BLOG component chosen, or a category of articles, or all my news items, or anything at all, I would like for example it to be show in the extra modules or 2 Columns ( left + right )
layout.HOW CAN I DO THIS? HOW IS THIS ACCOMPLISHED?
EXTRA MODULES
NO EXTRA MODULES
1 COLUMN LEFT
1 COLUMN RIGHT

March 27, 2008 at 4:09 pm #243351Hi.
You can config it in admin, In a module, you can config it show at that module, and dont show at other module. E.g ,at Wapper menu, no extra module to show, and it will full with as you see.itgl72 Frienditgl72

March 27, 2008 at 4:26 pm #243354I’M SORRY
I go to EXTENSIONS > MODULE MANAGER
From here I do not have an understanding of how to do this? You can see from the LINK I sent you in PM I have a CATEGORY TEST menu option MY BLOG component menu option as well as other items but I do not see a way to customise LAYOUT for those pages.
Is there a tutorial with/with out screenshots on how this is done?
This seems like a basic thing and I am frustrated for missing the step on how to do it but am willing to work to get it done and understand it.

March 27, 2008 at 10:31 pm #243378As you publish and unpublish modules and set them to be published in certain pages, the different layouts will be possible.

March 27, 2008 at 10:46 pm #243384Its as Miccas described…open one page and have a play around setting different modules to different positions…try putting them to the left then the right until you find something you like…you will so get the idea.
Change the layout of each page untill you get what your after 😉

March 27, 2008 at 11:00 pm #243389YOU KNOW WHAT?
It just *HIT* me how to do it. I been looking at the same %$#$&*^ screens all day. Took a break, fed and bathed my two kids and came back up here to just look at this thing again. THEN it hit me how to do it. SO CONSIDER THIS ONE SOLVED.
Now I just need help with the issue still open HERE in the thread Showing Another Component in “B” Module Area?
BY THE WAY, in the first picture below the J! menu has a shadow in the top left when it has two columns:
It has NO shadow when only TWO columns, anyw what ti make it have that shadow on the top left no matter how many columns?
