Anyone knows that the codes of JA Highslide, Highslide JS are not free for any commercial use unless you have a license for it, e.g. purchasing one at http://www.highslide.com for the normal cases.

Now, here at JA the question already came up some time ago if now, with this paid extension JA Highslide, the license to use it on commercial sites is already included? As all the other Highslide solutions are free and it is known they require the user to get a license from the author directly when not using it only on a private or personal non-commercial homepage.

Here it was still unclear but a guessing that when JA offers this not for free that the license should/must be included already but no one official from JA clarified it, if yes, included, or no, additional license needed. Simply missing a note somewhere that with the purchase of JA Highslide the license normally needed from the author is already included.

The clarification comes just today in the Highslide Forums:

    Much fun!:D

Thanks wooohanetworks … nice to get an official response to that from the highslide folks.

Thanks a lot wooohanetworks, for doing all the work and finding this out for those of us who use it. It is good to finally have a clear concise answer.

Thanks for the thanks, I just gave it shot yesterday, BUT I also miss such a note on the Highslide JS Homepage. If there’d be some note that with Joomlart.com’s extension one gets the license included it would also help. When you look over the homepage you see that all the available extensions including JA Highslide are listed there, still no note. A license for developers cost 200$ indeed, would be a lot money more.

    😉
