July 17, 2007 at 1:03 pm #121465Without being to negative I would say this is just an average template. To me it doesn’t hold too much new stuff ( yes, KISS is of course not bundled with a lot of extras, still )
To me I feel it is lacking something which would make it stand out better. The slideshow module is great ( however, clicking on for example number 4 or 5 in the scroller isn’t working too fast. I click and nothing happens for the next 5 seconds. It slides over to “page 2” before it suddenly changes to “page 5”.
Ok, sounds like I am really disappointed here. I am not. For its use it is another great template but I have come to expect more than great… :-[:-[
Keep up the good work and keep serving us great ( or even outstanding ) stuff!

I agree it’s a useful addition and I’m not negative but I’m not all that impressed either.
It does look like a re work of something else doesn’t it? the layout is a lot like xenia and while the menu simulating tabs with colour looks ok the banner seems to let it down i would have thought to use colour on banners, simple is good but it looks like a template was made using left overs from a series of ja templates
Designed? maybe, thought out & planned? at the 11th hour, maybe, created? definitely not.
I see JA is struggling to meet a two templates per month schedule and is sacrificing creative design for quick throw outs under the simplicity tag to save their backs
I have come to expect more from JA that’s all
My 2 cents

Hi ErikThorsen,
The slideshow config has a option to set the animation time. JA are setting the animation is not fast option. if you want slideshow change fast you can set in the admin Cp. you will see the animation option there. Thanks for reading and goodluck

July 18, 2007 at 2:58 am #224455Hi Erik and Shannon,
Thank you for your straingt comments to the new template. I understand that both of you are not negative when stating that this template is not your taste. But it is not fair to say that this template is the combination of several JA template.
I’m not here to defend the negative comment but to express my thought as a Joomla and JoomlArt user. I do like the concept of this template that the homepage only shows the important information that the webmaster want to bring to users. The homepage is also the gate for the site that the users could access the needed information quickest. The such homepage will look simpler but more efficient.
For the design, I could say that it is not the best template, but not a bad one. The template has all features other templates have. The inner pages are in standard 2 and 3 columns layout. The typography is tunned to make it looks simple and clean as the template. The template also provide a new style for the main (top) menu.
Just a thought to share with you :).
Best regards,

Khanh LePerhaps my English isn’t as clear as it should be?
I never said it WAS a combo of templates just looked like a combo,
It does look like a re work of something else doesn’t it? the layout is a lot like xenia and while the menu simulating tabs with colour looks ok the banner seems to let it down i would have thought to use colour on banners, simple is good but it looks like a template was made using left overs from a series of ja templates
that is; had that look an feel like a combined template
Perhaps we are just used to something a little more stylish, as I said it looks like JA have taken a simple approach to this release cause they had no time to plan, present a more intricate design ?No More no less Khanh Le

July 18, 2007 at 6:43 am #224486I am not talking about the speed of which it changes the images. I am talking about the numbers below it. ( in other words 1,2,3,4,5 )
Let’s say it just switched to image number 3 and I would like to view image number 1 again. Then I would click on the number 1 below the image showing now. That takes me to image 1. BUT, this takes about 5-7 seconds before it happens, this is what I am talking about.
@shannonn and Khan Le,
I think you are both sort of agreeing. Template is not top notch but decent. It has all features that the other templates but “nothing new” if you know what I am talking about. Yes, it is clean and simple but you can find lots of others with the same.
I think also “part” of the problem is that most other template providers out there now also have the exact same typography, meny modules, slideshows and so on. There is not too much “WOW” in the additionals anymore. ( Ja submit was great, the news rotator as well but this was only when noone else had anything similar. )
So that is why Joomlart now needs to provide templates with outstanding graphical design. Or release something “completely new” as to features of the template.
This is again just my 2 cents on this, or as we would say in Norway, my 2 kroners.. :p
