February 4, 2012 at 7:22 pm #173550Hi all,
I would like to clean-up the Joomla JA Tiris quickstart and remove as much as possible.
Can I delete the following.
From the templates folder:
atomic
beez5
beez_20From the administratortemplates folder:
hathorI am only using the JA Tiris, Bluestork and Joomshop.
Is there anything else not needed that can be removed.
Thanks in advance..

February 4, 2012 at 7:42 pm #436948Do you mean before you install the quickstart? That I can’t answer.
When it was all installed I uninstalled exactly the same templates and all the articles plus K2 as I knew I wouldn’t need it. I left Kunena in because there is a chance I might.
Uninstall them all if you don’t want them with extension manager/manage NOT with ftp.
As always take a backup first in case it all goes wrong or you delete something really important by accident. Better to delete too little than too much! 😉

February 4, 2012 at 7:52 pm #436949Thanks for your reply Swissa,
I am trying to remove a much as possible so when I hand over the JA Tiris + Joomshop to a new owner, they dont get stuff they don’t need and in case of a crash they can just run the installer again.
Same for the sample_data.sql I am trying to strip that down to and customize it accordingly.

Whatever you do they are going to need to either set up a new database or input the name and passwords and connect to the current one. Which could be corrupted anyway.
You might be better off installing akeeba and teaching them how to regular backups and also how to do a restore with kickstart.php. At least then they know that most of the data is safe. They should be backing up a shop on a regular basis regardless.
Just an idea.
