I’m trying to change the color of the Uvite template to white. I thought all I’d have to do is change the files that include “bg” for background in them, but this only changes part of the template as best as I could tell.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Hello,

There are various css codes that give the color to the template. The best thing, possibly you can do, is
    1.use firefox,
    2.download firebug,
    3.then say inspect element, and
4.see where the code is coming from.
5.Open that file and change the code / remove it.
    6. Save.

    And it is done…
    Regards,

I tried doing that, but there’s lots of different areas in Firebug and I can’t find what I need. You can see on my test site here http://www.bookcoverstore.com/ that I can change the white area, but I can’t figure out where to go for the blue.

I agree. Use firebug and edit the changes in the template.css. That’s where 90% of the CSS parameters are. That’s how I changed every detail of my website down to the border of my contact forms 😉

You’d also want to delete or replace the jpg here:

    background: url(../images/body-bg.jpg)

That’s also part of the background

    uvitelover,

Thank you for your advice as well. I tried using firebug and could only change part of it. I’ve spent hours on this and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. If you could be more specific about the steps you took to change this using firebug, or what files you changed and where I would be very very grateful. I love this template, but need to change the color.

There are three different background pieces in Uvite that need to be edited for a color change:

    body-bg.jpg
    cw-bg.jpg
    footer-bg.jpg

I got cool color effects in Photoshop by applying various Photo Filters at varying percentages (image/adjustments/photo filter) to the images.

    Good luck!

P.S. you can find those files in your template/images file. 😀
