I want to combine the left and right columns into one left column in order to add a little more width. I tried to go into the stylesheet and make col1 100% but it didn’t work. Is there something else I am missing to get them combined?

Just look trough the css file and you need to change it 3 places i think to make it work ok,unless you do some other changes too.
And a fix in the index.php file to clean up some unwanted things there.
