June 3, 2008 at 2:26 pm #129238I have searched the forum for “Comment could not be added” but nothing came up.
I am using Joomla 1.5 and the RS GALLERY from AVIAN II.
I was looking at a picturein a gallery, and added a comment. It then told me:
Message
Comment could not be added!I don”t understand why, I tried it twice on the same picture. The puzzling thing is I had just added a comment on the previous picture.
Is there some feature or functionality I am not aware of that is limiting commenting? Or is there an error? Some commenting time limit maybe?
EDIT: A few minutes later I was able to post to the picture that gave me the message that a message could not be added. How do I change this is possible? I dont want people to get the message Comment could not be added!

My folder permissions? Did they miraculously change on me from one minute to the other when I was on the page? I can’t see that happening. Its almost like some sort of posting limit. I’m at work at the moment and cant get to the interface but when I looked last night I couldn’t find an option to change.

June 3, 2008 at 4:07 pm #251738I have “allow public users to comment” set to YES but my site only allows registered users to comment. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Thanks,
Todd

benrud.net</blockquote>Ben, I have not experienced that issue but I believe you. I have endured many a challenge with this template and gallery but it was the only one I could find at the time that did what I want. I am still finding new issues here and there, like the issue this thread was originally started for which is getting the message below when trying to comment:
Message
Comment could not be added! But if I wait I CAN post on that same message a moment later.

benrud.net</blockquote>I noticed today, if I tell it NOT TO ALLOW COMMENTING, it still allows commenting. I was getting frustrated with not being able to get an answer or solution as to why this occasionally happen s (MESSAGE CAN NOT BE ADDED issue) and was considering turning OFF the commenting for the picture gallery. I tried it to see what it would look like, and well you guessed it. It didnt work. Commenting was still allowed.

June 10, 2008 at 5:44 pm #252919I’ve read your message and answer HERE as you told me too. I just want to make sure it applies to MY ISSUE as stated above. My issue and the issue you on the other thread you asked me to look at don’t exactly, TO ME, seem to be the same???
It would help if you could give a little bit more explanation as to what I am adding. As you can imagine on a live site I am concerned with making changes I am not sure are fixes. Also I see you didnt log into my site after I PM’d you the account info so I wasnt too sure how much you dug into my particular question?
Let me know what more you can tell us about the fix on the other thread and how it pertains to this issue.
THANKS

June 13, 2008 at 1:54 pm #253431It works more times than not. I have seen it happen only a few times. I have no answer as to why it doesnt work SOMETIMES. Theres no way to fix something like this. It just happens when it happens.
