September 29, 2008 at 1:45 am #133852I have a question for the higher up members of the staff. My sister and I started our own business in 2008. While we’ve been developing websites for a number of years, we both decided it was time to do it full time. She and I purchase everything together through our business. Things such as programs, templates, photos… all of these things are purchased through the company.
As far as Joomlart, I originally signed up because I fell in love with the Paritti Template, which I use on my own personal site. I also do charity work for numerous sites and have also used templates for those. I was the one who originally purchased the JA membership and signed on as a user for the forum.
It didn’t take us long to realize that Joomla (and Joomlart) could be an excellent business venture. In the last few weeks we’ve been able to develop sites rather quickly and our first few customers have been thrilled with the work. We also signed up with JA’s affiliate program. I’m not sure how good we will do but we are going to give it a whirl!
My question concerns JA’s forum. Whenever a situation concerning our sites arises I’m the only one that can post on the forum. She is listed as an “Unlicensed Member” and since her user name is not technically “Licensed” she is unable to participate on 90% of the forum because it is unreadable for non-licensed members.
Is there a way to rectify this? Is there a work around for those who have partners, perhaps sending a copy of our Tax I.D. forms or LLC partnership paperwork? Has this question ever been posed before? When our renewal rolls back around, why should we have to purchase two licenses for one company, just so we can post on the forum?
It sure would be nice if she could participate here. She’s quite brainy. 😎
Thanks in Advance for your consideration,

September 29, 2008 at 5:22 am #272979As it says here:
Can I share my username? Why is my account suspended?
PDF
No. One username and password can be used by one buyer with up to five IP addresses only.
Any attempt to share the username and password will result in the automatic suspension of your account. If your download traffic logs exceed the total number of allowed downloads, your account will be suspended immediately. If you have a static ip adress and your sis have, that means you can use same log in.
I know several users have used same log in before and no one said anything about it.
As for you, this should be no problem, as long as you dont use more than 5 different IP adresses.
But then again its my opinion:)September 29, 2008 at 6:09 am #272989i am a enterpreneur.i am trying out to start a export company and it mainly deals with export of steel, used goods and Ac(working with solar panels).now we a group of 10 members going to start this venture…………

Thanks in Advance for your consideration,
JessicaHi Jessisca,
Your question is very interesting and I believe this is a very resonable request to Developer MembershipCurrently we do not have this option. I have seen many systems have “Developer Accounts” which can linked to one master licensed account.
After reading your post, I am thinking of a profile page in our Member where you can enter more forum username as belows
2981
And after adding your co-developer account, eg: Mr John, the username will be granted with permission to access all forum and will be displayed as belows.2980
I have put my request into Development and hope we can have this option sometime next week.
Thank you again for your question. Although I have thought about this feature before but it may have not been implemented without your request.

September 29, 2008 at 11:38 am #273035Great Idea. I would love this to be implemented. It would save me asking questions and then reporting back to one of my other staff / hosting company / 3rd party extension developer!
Hope this can be introduced soon.

September 29, 2008 at 1:42 pm #273046Thanks for answering Menalto. We knew what the bylaws of membership were so that’s why we posed the question. We are not concerned with downloading because we are networked in the office and have the same I.P. address.
I think Hung’s idea is awesome! My user name would probably have to be changed though. I know that’s possible because I can do it on my forum. My user name should say “Angel Trumpet Designs” and then list the two partners, Jessica & Rebecca. We can talk about that when/if the feature is added.
Thank you for considering the idea and I hope the programmers can find a way to implement the process.
