I purchased the Developer Package because I thought it would be relatively easy to use. I am extremely disappointed. The tutorials are of no help because they come up short of telling you what you really need to do, and the English is not precise enough.
Look at Ning.com. Their templates are SIMPLE to configure. You drop little module blocks into the available positions on each page, and voila, everything is correct, looks great, and works great.
I started with this template because it uses JA Tabs, but those instructions are essentially worthless. Do I create one custom module or three? What do I then do as nothing shows up on my site.
I can’t load the quickstart because it says it will wipe out everything on my site. I can’t lose months of work.
I’ve searched through the Forum with no help at all. Please show me that I am missing something, or I will have to get my money back and search for a template company that makes it easy…as it should be.
Sorry for the rant, but this is a joke so far.:(( notn easy

</blockquote>Hi there,
First of all, Welcome to JoomlArt. If you are not happy, you can file for refund within the 7 days of purchase. So dont be sad about the whole thing.
Based on my experience with 3 other template clubs, you go anywhere, it is going to take some time to adapt to the products they or we have.
Ning.com is not cms you can manage all around. They manage it and you add the content. whatever… leave it.
Now the tabs, example, you can make 3 custom module.. publish them to a (common) unique position such as ja-tabs or my-tabs. Now in the tab module backend.. choose this position to load. The module will load all the modules on that position. Also make sure the ja-tab plugin is published and template style is chosen or is same as in the quickstart.
Regarding quickstart. >> Quickstart is the demo site clone. It is to be used in two ways.
1. Making a new website from scratch. Use it, replace with your content and go live.
2. Install and configure on your site : >> In this case. you need to install the quickstart on your localhost, and use it for reference. This way it is easy to configure and know, how and what has been arranged.
3. Usually the userguides are available in respective forum as sticky. With screenshots of backend settings of the modules and templates. They can help to some extend when you dont want to install the quickstart as reference.
Also remember, the default settings for any module is different from what comes with quickstart, so if you want to configure you module to look the way it looks in the demo site, you need the exact backend settings.
If you need guidelines on how to install the quickstart on your localhost >> http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/how-to-install-ja-quickstart-using-xampp-windows/
You are bound to hit snags as you are new here, but you can ask for help and we shall try our best to help you out.

August 10, 2010 at 11:42 pm #352282Thank you. I know that you are very highly regarded by Joomla users!
I paid $40 just now to have JA Ores installed on one of our sites. I asked that JA Tabs also be installed. I am happy to pay extra for that.
Your designs are exceptional, so I am hoping that having you do the install will make this easy for me.
Thank you very much.

August 13, 2010 at 3:22 am #352546@damerica, i had received ticket you submitted, the replies were sent via ticket then.
August 13, 2010 at 3:36 am #352550There is no Color Variation Parameter in Extensions > Template Manager > JA Ores as you indicated by email. I need the black background with white type and the orange stripe with black type. That’s what the sample was, and that is what I ordered.
Second, you appear to have wiped out all of my extensions. Most significant is Sobi2 with all of the work on an 150-field database. I can reload the extensions, but how do I get the custom fields back? I also had done extensive work on K2 categories and items. How do I get those back? Is there some kind of restore process from tables in php? I don’t know PHP. That’s why I had you do the installation. We know how to do a quickstart install, so we got nothing by paying you to do this install.
Please change the color to be as I ordered, and please advise on how I can salvage all of my work.

August 13, 2010 at 3:56 am #352552Dear,
It is clearly stated in the Installation service that we will install the clone of demo site (quickstart). It does not involve installing on a already configured joomla.
Your old tables are safe with prefix >> _bak . You can install sobi 2 again and replace the sobi 2 tables (that should work). Make sure to take DB backup.
If you use skype, please add me. sending PM to you.
