The JA Mageia did not come with a users guide I have searched the site and found a tutorials site which is down at the moment.
What module position does the newsflash module occupy? and how may I configure it?

Try User5 and I agree, not much help with user guides

There’s not much to do, except publish it (on the left?) then select a section/category from the module parameters. It works fine for me, after changing per this:

do get the latest newsflash module from here
