November 10, 2011 at 8:49 am #170570Hello,
We do not know where to post this thread, but we have a problem with a member of technical support.
We are really sorry, but every time we have “troy hall” designed to solve our problems, the first thing he does is to put an automatic reply:

Please follow this video and update your software. Keeping your software current is the best way to ensure your site is running properly and is secure.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_bTuK_5aeY
The wiki for it is here http://wiki.joomlart.com/wiki/JA_Extensions_Manager/
Please follow this video to prepare your site for troubleshooting.

Bear
It does not bother to log on and check our components are current. Even if the ticket is placed on critical !
(for information, our components is always up to date)
We already said this to him, but nothing changes.
We have the screenshot to prove what we say about the different tickets.
Ticket :
276667
277787
281425And again is it normal, if we ask a question, he made fun of us with the answer “lol”. It is not very professionnal !
We are sorry, but we don’t want to work with this guy.
Is it possible?Thank in advance

November 10, 2011 at 10:13 am #423982Hi there,
It would have saved everyone some embarrassment if you could have replied back to Troy in the ticket asking for someone else. It does at times happen that not everyone is able to gel well with each other.
I can assure you Troy is highly knowledgeable and knows the stuff when it comes to Joomla!. I can quote many examples where he has been praised like hell by others for going out of way to solve the issues, even the Non-JA issues.
Anyways, lets put this behind, it can happen to anyone. Let me know of the tickets ID (full ID, number alone is not sufficient) you want to be attended to. I shall request other mods to answer the same.
Regards
Arvind

November 10, 2011 at 5:35 pm #424091The very first time I received that same response from Troy I was very grateful because it was very helpful and prepared me to be ready. Now I see that response and really don’t care. My guess is that Troy has that set as an automated response because so often people are not current and up to date like you are. But, I do have to say, in Troy’s behalf that I have always found him to be very helpful and he is the person that I actually hope will work on my tickets. Go figure! 🙂
