August 25, 2011 at 10:12 pm #167811hi there,
#1
sorry but i am a bit disapointed about your download/ demo area of the templates. just wanted to get an upgrade of community plus template of a newer 1.6 version, i just found 1.5 and 1.7. ??? you do not offer anymore? and if yes why do you still advertise with 1.6 out now on your frontpage??? also the upgrade of 1.6 is offered several times on your page, but if your in the download area it issn´t anymore???dont understand the philosophy behind it, sorry?
question # 2: probably its not possible to run the 1.7 upgrade under joomla 1.6, right?
question # 3: if #1 and #2 are right, can you send me a download link for last 1.6 community plus version, dont want to upgrade again the whole system to joomla 1.7.
thanks for your answer.
chris

August 25, 2011 at 10:27 pm #408567There is a J1.7 only version simply because J1.6 is no longer supported by Joomla. All users of J1.6 should update to J1.7. The homepage details regarding the J1.6 advertising have simply been overlooked with regards to this template.

but ithen i know its not your fault, but then i don´t agree by the philosophy of joomla. i think its not a good idea to force anybody to update.
but anyway thanks for your fast feedback!!! 🙂1 user says Thank You to chrisreitz for this useful post

The thing is, however . . . no one is forcing anyone to upgrade. In fact, I wrote a piece called The SMART & SENSIBLE Way To Upgrade addressing this very issue and the idea that it is neither necessary nor always sensible to run and upgrade to the latest version right when it comes out.
