    Hi,

is anyone else having a problem with spam registrations?

To data I have installed stopthespam and enabled it in Jomsocial and Kunena. As the final part of the process I need to have users self activate their accounts, but if I switch this feature on in Joomla backend, it causes a problem with registration (I use the Jomsocial registration process as I need to capture additional information such as location details during sign up).

When the activation mode is switched on, and a user clicks on next after entering the first lot of information – it produces a popup box with error warning:

A required entry is missing or it contains an invalid value!

The only way to prevent it is to set the activation to none, but then I get all the spam. Has anyone managed to stop this sign up spam? I noticed they use the same Name and Username, and usually they are using gmail

    Hello melanieb,

“stopthespam” is a 3rd party extension, it isn’t a JoomlArt extension. Please contact “stopthespam” provider to request to resolve this problem.

    Regards.
