November 2, 2011 at 7:45 am #422907Hi aykuncoskun,
this error says, that You haven’t entered correct password for Your email or Your hosting provider doesn’t support SMTP mailings.
Could You please try to change Mailer settings to PHP Mail. This should help.
Regards
November 3, 2011 at 9:45 pm #423137Hi,

November 4, 2011 at 7:27 am #423187Hello,
I would suggest to ask Your hosting provider. I’m still also not sure that You have entered correct mail password.
Please check also Your spam folder when You use PHP Mail.Write here please if You still have troubles, but this really sounds like hosting issue to me.
Regards

November 4, 2011 at 8:03 am #423196Hi Trimud
Why do I get the following message when using a content form plugin. I am working on Joomla 1.5 at the moment.
“Could not instantiate mail function.”
I seems similar to the query above.

November 4, 2011 at 9:21 am #423204I have checked several other posts on Joomla.org and also with my previous experience it seems to me that this is hosting issue. Please check with them first. Try on another host if You have one also.

Hi Trimud,
My hositngprovider says that i should use the SMTP mailer settings. They say that a plugin is running for the mailing functions in the website and that i should disable it to use my smtp settings.
I can not find the mentioned plugin to disable. May you have an idea, which plugin is this?
Thanks for your time,

November 10, 2011 at 1:32 pm #424016It’s better to update your Joomla 1.6 site to Joomla 1.7 version, this is very important for your site… At least you can update your Joomla to 1.6.5 version. Maybe this solves your problem.

sorry, but I didn’t received notification with Your replay.
It seems that I can’t access depremetudu.com/administrator, maybe it is restricted by IP?
This way I can’t check for any running plugins. As kobenes said – it’s best to update Your Joomla to latest 1.7.2 version first.

November 10, 2011 at 8:43 pm #424117Hi,
I tried to update first from 1.6.3 to 1.6.5. It is OK.
Than i tried to update from 1.6.5 to 1.7.0 from admin panel (ext manager -> update), i get some errors. i use now the 1.6.5 version.I discovered something new: if i send emails in the contact form from admin’s email (admin@depremetudu.com), the emails are coming to me without any error ( i use there the smtp emailer settings)
Trimud,
Normally my admin panel works on any other computers. I guess that, by the time your attempts, i was updating the joomla, maybe you could not login because of this. You may try it again plz.
Thanks for your time,
regards, -
